GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

MAIN PURPOSE: The MEAL Assistant is responsible for leading and managing the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) system for our project with us. This involves developing robust data collection and analysis methods, ensuring high-quality reporting, and fostering community engagement. He/She will lead in data management, analysis, and reporting, and play a crucial role in engaging communities and stakeholders. He/She will also facilitate data collection, reporting, and analysis to measure the project's impact, particularly in enhancing livelihood opportunities, vocational training, financial literacy, and economic participation of the targeted beneficiaries. He/She will ensure that the project’s goals are met with excellence and efficacy, aligning with the us commitment to disability-inclusive development

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Led the development and implementation of the project’s Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) system, with a strong focus on community participation.
  • Ensure the quality of the data entered and report to the line manager for issues encountered in the data quality/entry:
  • Ensure all data entered are accurate and Cross-check with monthly report paper versions
  • Collaborated with the MEAL Department to establish and maintain effective coordination and information systems with project donors and key stakeholders, particularly those involved in monitoring and evaluation.
  • Ensured timely updates of project data and information in the ERP system, maintaining monthly regularity.
  • Assisted in the design and deployment of standardized MEAL tools for the project, including monitoring forms and progress analysis reports, on a weekly and monthly schedule.
  • Conducted regular data collection and analysis from the project database to maintain data quality and accessibility.
  • Produced and delivered high-quality reports on a bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, as well as for assessments, PDMs, baseline, and end-line surveys, CPDRs and CMAM database complete with all necessary documentation.
  • Collaborated with project teams and staff for baseline/end-line assessments and specialized research initiatives.
  • Established and managed a beneficiary feedback system, ensuring comprehensive documentation and alignment with current and future programming.
  • Handled beneficiary inquiries and complaints via telephone, providing appropriate solutions and follow-ups, with a commitment to continuous resolution through the ERP-next system.
  • Managed the archiving and documentation processes with us designated storage systems.
  • Performed regular field visits to identify challenges and inform program management for corrective action.
  • Supported the creation of Statements of Work (SOW) for baseline/end-line assessments and the project’s final evaluation.
  • Monitor and evaluate BSFP and TSFP site and ensure their adherence to Donor and national protocols
  • Participated in baseline assessments, annual project reviews, and final evaluations.
  • Developed and maintained a dynamic data collection and management system, offering immediate insights into project deliverables and impacts.
  • Analyzed data trends to pinpoint areas for enhancement, with a special emphasis on the engagement and impact on individuals with disabilities.
  • Compiled detailed reports outlining progress relative to established indicators, providing both numerical and narrative insights.
  • Conducted regular field visits to verify adherence to project goals and to collect direct feedback from beneficiaries.
  • Facilitated focus group discussions with beneficiaries to gain insights into their experiences, obstacles, and goals, ensuring that feedback is integrated and acted upon.
  • Evaluated the effectiveness and scope of collaborations with microfinance institutions, businesses, and vocational training centers.
  • Undertook additional responsibilities as needed, always with a commitment to excellence and efficiency.
  • Carried out extra duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.

Required Qualifications and skills:

Educational Background: 

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a relevant field.

Experience:

  • At least 1-2 years in humanitarian work.
  • Prior involvement in Economic Empowerment and Food Security & Livelihood (FSL) Projects.
  • Familiarity with humanitarian standards such as Sphere.
  • Proficiency in data entry, cleansing, and analysis using platforms like KOBO, Ms. Excel, and SPSS.
  • Engagement in varied cultural work settings.
  • Exceptional communication skills in both English and Arabic, with the capability to convey information effectively, even in high-pressure situations.
  • Skilled writer with the capability to craft high-quality reports and critically analyze M&E data.
  • Competence in computer applications, notably Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Superior interpersonal and negotiation aptitudes.
  • Self-starter with a results-oriented approach and impeccable organizational skills.
  • Ability to function autonomously and respond to feedback promptly and professionally.
  • Experience in engaging professionally with donors and various stakeholders in a context that requires political and cultural sensitivity.
