  • Duration:  4 Months Renewable according to budget & performance

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

MAIN PURPOSE: The Site Supervisor will be based in the field in the targeted districts. He will be also responsible for supervising the project activities, ensuring timely implementation, monitoring work progress, and completing the handover process, selecting the community committees at the location level, working closely with community stakeholders in the targeted sites. In addition, he’s responsible for community mobilization, selection, and identification of beneficiaries, supporting the beneficiaries in cash distribution sites and C4W activities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In consultation with project technical engineer and Sen. project officer, work with the community committee to register and verify targeted beneficiaries based on selection criteria.
  • Participate in the assessment of community needs and resources and identify the community assets and infrastructure that need rehabilitation/construction/upgrading works and collection of baseline data to assist in project implementation.
  • Supervision and observation of the implementation of all fieldwork related to community projects (rehabilitation) according to the technical studies and timeline plans of work.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the community work at the field level.
  • Undertake technical assessment, and ensure quality and accurate technical specifications are incorporated into the community projects' designs.
  • Understand all the project related documents for each of the sites such as a bill of quantities (BOQs), work plan, feasibility studies, monitoring and evaluation plan, and the procurement plan.
  • Conduct daily site visits to follow up progress in community work and guide the work.
  • Identify general achievement of fieldwork and attendance of workers and establish regularly the daily list of C4W beneficiaries per week according to the actual work and submitted them all to the technical engineer and Sen. project Officer.
  • Reports of achievement of daily, weekly and closing to technical engineer and Sen. project Officer.
  • Follow the agreed on the plan of action; implement the project to schedule, reporting any delays and deviations immediately.
  • Support the collection and documentation of impact and success stories and Documenting the project (Reports + pictures and video), to show the mechanism of the program.
  • Any related tasks/duties assigned by the supervisor.

General

  • Comply all BFD’s policies (Safeguarding policy, Code of conduct, Child protection, Safety & Security policy.) and other relevant policies and procedures.
  • Comply with BFD's policies and practice with respect to BENFS  protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
  • Creates a managerial environment to lead, enable and maintain our culture of safeguarding.   

Required Qualifications and skills:

  • A bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil engineering or relevant fields
  • One to two experiences in planning and implementation of CVA program activities, mainly C4W activities
  • Preferred to be from or residence in the targeted districts as well as have a good knowledge of the general context of the target areas and able to access and work in these districts Marib city and Sirwah.
  • Good knowledge of safety standards and legislation related to C4W standards.
  • Personal qualities: Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven and excellent sense of organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions quickly and independently
  • Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated attention to activity tracking detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members is required.
  • Sense of creativity essential.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people.

Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS): The role holder is required to carry out the duties in adherece to the Core Humanitarian Standards, the values and principles outlined in BFD's policies such as Code of Conduct, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, Child Safeguarding, Anti Workplace Harassment, Fiscal Integrity, Anti-Retaliation and other internal policies and guidelines.
