Job Description

Job Title: District Coordinator

Duration: 6 months 

Location: Alabr, Hadhramout

Reporting to: Project Manager

Deadline of submission:  2nd of October 2022.

Background

BCHR is a non-profit and non-governmental organization aiming to provide health, nutrition, food security and protection services as a humanitarian response to the escalating socio-economic situation in Yemen since 2015.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The District Coordinator will be based in the targeted district and reports to the Education Officer. He/She is responsible for coordinating and ensuring smooth implementation of project interventions in adherence to BCHR’s project management. He/She will also be representing BCHR into all relevant stakeholders' meetings/coordination in the area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES

  • Coordination with local authorities represented by governor, district' manager, during project phases and engage with the community in the targeted areas (District-Sub-district and villages to explain and clarify project, aim of project and targeting mechanism. 
  • Support and coordinate the implementation of the activities required for the successful completion of the Education activities under the YHF 1st SA for 2022 and in line with the set priorities.
  • Explain and clarify registration form for the community committees.
  • Work closely with field team in the implementation of program activities.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed weekly and monthly work plans that support and achieve the overall program timeline.
  • Ensure timely submission of weekly, monthly reports 
  • Coordinate and oversee Field team performance
  • Provide regular feedback to district Field team and Facilitators as needed, and monitor the implementation of work plan to improve program’s quality and achieve timelines
  • Support the field team in strengthening and promoting community engagement processes in the project areas, particularly identifying project beneficiaries, assessing their needs and addressing and resolving community issues.
  • Support community mobilization for assessments, enrollment and other education stakeholder meetings.
  • Support the distribution of education materials, to beneficiaries.
  • Perform and document regular monitoring of all project activities in close coordination with M&E team; Conducting field visit to the training centers to follow up the training 
  • Contact with Project Officer for any problems in the field 
  • Solve the problems in the field during implement the activities.
  • Assist in the collection of data, and assessment
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all people involved in project implementation and maintain the highest standards of behavior when working with the project beneficiaries;
  • Any other assignments as directed by the Line Manager. 

Essential Requirements

  • At least 2 years’ professional experience in a comparable position.
  • Strong experience in coordinating and planning of Project activities.
  • Strong team leadership and technical expertise are critical.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, tasks efficiently.
  • Demonstrates excellence in both oral and written communications.
  • Good working knowledge of computer applications (e.g., MS Office and Excel).
  • Flexible to work under pressure and remote areas
