WHO WE ARE
ITDC was founded in 1969 as the “Swedish Center”, a vocational center focused on poverty reduction, and community development. Over the subsequent decades ITDC left a legacy of improving the lives of Yemenis across multiple generations.
During the following years, and particularly with the onset of the conflict in 2015, ITDC has expanded its activities, programs and geographic areas to include a wider spectrum of relief, recovery and development programming across multiple governorates of Yemen.
Job Title: Field Project Assistant
Reports To: The Field Project Assistant will report to the Program Manager Assistant. This position is part of the ITDC Humanitarian Department.
Job Overview
We are looking for a person with strong administrative, logistics, and English skills to help the Project Administrator to monitor project activities in the field, collect and translate stories, meet with beneficiaries and local coordinators, organize M&E documents on the server, collect and write reports, and assist in other administrative tasks. This Field Project Assistant will work on multiple Humanitarian projects in and around Taiz and other nearby governorates.

Responsibilities and Duties
1) Implement assigned project activities and tasks within the assigned budget and schedule, including but not limited to dealing with vendors, organizing local committees, and managing distribution days.
2) Monitor project activities, conduct interviews and surveys, provide detailed verbal and written reports on observations of the participants/beneficiaries and drafting activity reports
3) Manage project funds and advances for expenses and provide correct receipts to Finance Department in a timely manner
4) Assist the Program Manager Assistant or the Project Administrator in relevant administrative tasks such as documentation, archiving, scanning, inventorying, etc. as needed and required
5) Assist in the development and maintenance of program materials in the online server
6) Provide facilitation or training of the project staff or project beneficiaries as required
7) Coach and train Interns in implementing and monitoring activities, as well as developing them to be able to act in the Regional Coordinator’s role when necessary.
8) Learn the role and duties of the Senior Regional Coordinators, including undertaking some of their tasks and responsibilities at short notice if necessary
9) Travel to project locations outside of office location as required for project activities and required organizational meetings and training
10) Actively seek and articulate opportunities for personal, team, and project improvements including showing self-awareness and initiative
11) Carry out “menial” tasks when necessary for the success of the project, in accordance with ITDC’s value of servant leadership
Qualifications
- A university degree in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in Humanitarian projects especially in the livelihood sector.
- Fluent in verbal and written Arabic
- Intermediate to Advanced English skills
- Experienced in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
- Strong skills in conducting oral interviews
- Strong report writing skills
