Main Objective / Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Health and Nutrition project manager plus the guides of the MEAL department, the Data Entry Officer (DEO) is responsible for accurately collecting and entering all activity data for the INTERSOS activities within the framework of the project intervention. The DEO will compile and verify all project data to ensure accuracy while appropriately entering and formatting it. This will include reviewing and preparing field reports, and documents for data entry and transcribing from paper formats into digital or computer databases using manual entry.
The data entry officer will be part of the project team and will support the Project Manager on a day-to-day basis in preparing reports and maintaining accurate data." The DEO will receive support from the MEAL team where necessary to collect and verify data.

Responsibilities/Duties
Under the supervision of the Medical Activity Manager, with technical supervision from the MEAL Officer, the Data Entry Officer’s responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- On a weekly and monthly basis, collect, compile, verify accuracy, and sort information/data from the field according to activities to prepare source data for computer entry.
- Review and validate collected data for discrepancies or errors; and correct any discrepancies in coordination with the MEAL, project teams.
- Conduct regular field visits to review data against the registration/report forms (spot check), correct any incompatibilities/discrepancies if possible, and check the output.
- Support the MEAL Officer in ensuring that databases are adequately designed and optimal in terms of usefulness and accuracy.
- Support the MEAL Officer in producing data, statistical significance, and infographics for the preparation of reports, trend analysis, and matrixes.
- Update the internal databases every week, share them with the health and nutrition activity manager, and also with the MEAL Officer for review.
Others:
- File, store, and archive completed activity data (hard and soft copies) in designated locations and ensure backup operations.
- Monthly update of Health and Nutrition Cluster Databases (Online System DHIS2, SAM, MAM, IYCF, and Online Nutrition Supplies Tracker).
- Entry and analysis of health and nutrition data every month, including analysis.
- Support in extracting health and Nutrition based data on requests from the medical team.
- Participation in the development and maintenance of information management systems databases/dashboards.
- Support in developing and designing information management systems resulting from monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning activities, such as progress reports, databases, and complaint mechanisms.
- Ensure comprehensive execution of required data analyses for monthly, periodic, and annual reporting cycles of projects.
- Scan project documents and print files, when needed.
- Upon request, support is provided in conducting beneficiary satisfaction surveys to collect feedback on the services delivered, using approved and standardized formats.
- Support the health and nutrition activity manager and, the MEAL officer in responding to queries for information and clarification of data.
- Treat all data with the utmost confidentiality and comply with data integrity and protection standards.
- Perform any other duties assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
a. Technical skills and experience:
- Minimum diploma or bachelor’s degree.
- Demonstrated similar/relevant work experience in data collection and entry, preferably with I/NGOs.
- advanced computer literacy, and in particular, good Excel knowledge.
- Ability to perform data entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
- Knowledge and/or experience using data collection tools such as KoBo/ODK would be an asset.
- Experience with data related to health/nutrition programming would be an asset.
b. Soft skills:

- Ability and willingness to travel to remote field locations (project sites) as required.

- Native Arabic – fluent written and spoken English.
