Job Purpose:
Network & security engineer will be responsible for maintaining and administering our IT networks. His/her primary duties will include maintenance of IT networks, hardware, software, and other related systems, performing disaster recovery operations, protecting data, software, and hardware from attacks, and replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary. He/she will also be working closely with the users of our network in order to identify potential issues and fix existing problems.
Key Duties & Accountabilities:
- Responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, installing, implementing, monitoring, troubleshooting and supporting the bank LANs, WANs, Internet and intranet networks systems and segments.
- Overseeing all network systems, identify, log, and report issues. maintenance of configurations of all network hardware and software elements.
- Configure and manage all network protocols, policies, address assignment, Assign routing protocols and routing table configuration.
- Create and manage projects that are designed to either add network functionality SW/HW required by the bank or to address ongoing network failure issues.
- Develop or implement open-source/third-party tools to assist in detection, prevention and analysis of security threats Awareness.
- Training of the workforce on information security standards, policies and best practices Implement protections.
- Installation and use of FortiGate, ASA Juniper firewalls, Citrix ADC, data encryption and other security products and procedures.
- Installation and use of steelhead Riverbed equipment, data encryption and other security products and procedures.
- Monitor networks and systems for security breaches, through the use of software that detects intrusions and anomalous system behavior.
- Investigate security breaches Lead incident response, including steps to minimize the impact and then conducting a technical and forensic investigation into how the breach happened and the extent of the damage.
- Regularly review the health of the network and ensure it is operating optimally.
- Ensure no single point of failure; all fail-over plans be fully tested on regularly scheduled job requirements.
- Maintain and update network documentation including network diagrams, and relevant configurations.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for network support.
- Providing continuous service improvement efforts by optimizing performance, stability and capacity for the network and services at all locations of the Bank.
- Assist in IT projects as necessary.
- Contribute to building and maintaining the IT security infrastructure, monitor and suggest improvements to all areas of IT and security
- Work across teams and with vendors to identify and resolve issues.
Job Qualifications /Requirements
1. Education
- University degree in the field of study related to information technology or equivalent, with emphasis on network engineering and security.
- Cisco CCNA/CCNP certification is desired.
2. Experience
- Wide Experience in Cisco networks switching and routing.
- Expertise in anti-virus software, intrusion detection, firewalls and content filtering.
3. Knowledge
- Knowledge of risk assessment tools, techniques and methods. Experience in designing networks and systems and building safe applications.
- Knowledge of network protocols, subnets, VLANs, security zones, and DMZs.
- Knowledge of Load Balancer management and troubleshooting.
- Endpoint Security Solutions, including File Safety Monitoring and Data Loss Prevention Cloud Service Platform (PaaS) automatic security test tools Chef - Gateway Configuration Management Tool - A tool that helps track abnormal changes in the experience of LAN and WAN files.
- The IT security engineer must have experience and knowledge of the following:
a. Endpoint Security Solutions, including File Safety Monitoring and Data Loss Prevention Cloud Service Platform (PaaS) automatic security test tools Chef - Gateway Configuration Management Tool - A tool that helps track abnormal changes in the experience of LAN and WAN files.
5. Skills
- Network diagrams and documents for designing and planning network communication systems.
- Disaster recovery, forensic tools, planning techniques and methods, research and development of security policies, standards and procedures.
- System management, support for multiple platforms and applications.
6. Abilities
- The ability to implement and manage network infrastructure hardware troubleshooting, including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers.
- Ability to do IP mapping and application transfer knowledge and network infrastructure protocols.
