About SDF:
The Sustainable Development Foundation (SDF) is a non-governmental, voluntary, independent organization established in March 2015, officially registered at the Ministry of Social Affairs as per license (99). SDF has been present in Yemen since 2015, it has experience implementing emergency child protection and education responses, including women and youth empowerment. SDF has experience in handling large grants from international donors, such as UNDP, UNHCR, WFP, OCHA, WHO, SCI and ZOA. SDF has excellent national-level relations and has experience in coordinating with both national and international NGOs. It has offices, staff and community-based committees in Hajjah, Sana'a, Marib, Ibb, Hudidah, Dhamar, Almahweet, Al-Bayda’a, and Hadramout as well as solid experiences engaging with local communities from whom it gained acceptance and with whom it has collaborated in the past. In addition to that, SDF creates livelihood opportunities and community-based protection.

Job Purpose:
Monitor teams (one team in each district-each team contains one male and one female staff) they will monitor and conduct assessments through Focus Group Discussions (FGD), Community Assessments (CA), and house-to-house visits on a daily basis. The information gathered will be recorded and documented using the protection assessment forms. This activity will be conducted by the protection monitors who have experience in protection issues such as Gender Based Violence (GBV), Child Protection issues such as child labor, early marriages, etc. The protection monitor or legal counselor will coordinate the overall case response, including providing HLP services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Protection Monitoring:
- Conduct needs assessments through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), Community Assessments (CAs), and house-to-house visits in Khayran Al Muharraq and Ku'aydinah districts.
- Gather and document protection-related information using standardized assessment forms.
- Identify vulnerable individuals and households requiring protection services.
- Map existing services available to beneficiaries in the target areas.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all protection monitoring activities.
Case Finding and Referral:
- Identify potential cases requiring case management services during community outreach and monitoring activities.
- Refer identified cases to relevant services (e.g., legal aid, psychosocial support, medical care) according to established referral pathways.
- Maintain a referral log and track the outcomes of referrals..
Data Collection and Reporting:
- Compile and analyze data collected during protection monitoring activities.
- Prepare regular reports on protection needs, trends, and incidents observed in the field.
- Contribute to the development of protection briefs and advocacy materials.
Community Engagement:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with community members, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Raise awareness within communities about protection issues and available services.
- Participate in community meetings and other relevant forums.
Coordination and Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with other members of the protection team, including case workers and legal officers.
- Coordinate with other humanitarian actors and local authorities operating in the target areas.
- Participate in relevant coordination meetings and forums.
Other Duties:
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or any related field with at least 2 years of practical experience in case management preferably with NGOs, protection assessment and data collection.
- Knowledge of referrals mechanisms.
- Knowledge of center-based approach and community-based approach.
- Proficiency in MS Office software is essential (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- High diplomacy, cultural sensitivity and security awareness
- Strong communication skills
- Strong sense of neutrality
- Attention to activity tracking detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work
- independently and cooperatively with team members is required.
- Positive attitude and ability to work well in a multidisciplinary is essential.
- Excellent data analytical skills and interpretation.
