Job Description

Position: CCCM Focal Point

Location: Al-Jawf

Reports to: Project Manager

Duration: 10 Months

Deadline: 19/09/2023

Job Purpose: The CCCM Focal Point is responsible for the coordination and management of camps or camp-like settings, including the provision of essential services such as shelter, water, sanitation, and hygiene. They will work to ensure that camps are organized and managed in a way that promotes the dignity and safety of IDPs. Additionally, the CCCM Focal Point may engage in community outreach and mobilization efforts to raise awareness of camp management issues and to promote community-based management mechanisms. He/She may also work closely with other actors in the protection sector, such as the Legal Counselor, the Protection Officer, and the Psychosocial Support Officer, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to IDP protection. The CCCM Focal Point may also engage with other humanitarian actors, such as NGOs and UN agencies, to ensure the provision of essential services and to advocate for the needs of IDPs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leading the CCCM staff members to provide essential services such as shelter, water, sanitation, and hygiene.
  • Submitting an implementation plan for the project and binding it with specific timeframes.
  • Following up on the project technically and administratively and monitoring CCCM staff members.
  • Advocacy and mobilization for the camps where the project is implemented.
  • Submitting needs assessment reports for IDPs, affected and returnees in the governorate as required by the field and as directed by the yard management.
  • Holding periodic meetings with the team members to evaluate performance on the ground and solve problems.
  • Observing the submission of the weekly report through continuous observation.
  • Maintaining open lines of communication with all field staff.
  • Attending coordination and cluster meetings periodically.
  • Working effectively as a team member and solving staff problems whenever they occur.
  • Maintaining flexibility to take on added responsibilities as and when needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • University degree in Business Administration or a relevant discipline for the project.
  • Ability to engage with all governmental and non-governmental entities.
  • Previous experience in the field of CCCM or any related field.
  • Experience with the project management cycle, budgets, and donor requirements.
  • Ability to deal with relations with local authorities as a representative of the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of how to monitor and follow up on tasks.
  • Excellent English language skills (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint presentation, etc.).

Languages:

  • English and Arabic.
