SIF in Aden is recruiting an Cook

Secours Islamique France (SIF), a Non-Governmental Organization of international solidarity based in France. Founded in 1991, SIF is a non-profit and non-political organization that intents to help, to bring relief and to protect the lives of those threatened by natural disasters, armed conflicts or by economic collapse. SIF provides its help in respect of the cultural diversity, without any distinction of origin, religion or gender. 
SIF established an office in Aden in July 2019 and is currently implementing FSL projects.
 
SUMMARY OF THE POSITION: 

Based in Aden, Yemen. Under the supervision of the HR Assistant, the Cook is responsible for performing all Cook-related duties. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: 

a.    Preparing food for SIF Expat staff and lunch for national staff, in accordance with the rules of hygiene.
b.    Ensure all utilities – e.g., water, gas – are maintained at SIF-GH.
c.    Ensure compliance with all SIF logistics and admin/finance rules and regulations.
d.    The cook with other office staff is responsible for the security of materials/equipment in the GH.
e.    Provide full cleaning services at SIF GH Kitchen and dining area in order to keep them clean, hygienic and pleasant.
 
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Cook the food and tea for Expatriates and national staff.
• Keep the kitchen, cooking utensils, refrigerator, and microwave clean; Disinfect the refrigerator regularly.
• Inform his/her line manager of any Kitchen/cleaning equipment required and of any missing or damaged materials.
• Wash/Clean the kitchen floors with disinfectant.
• Evaluate gas needs and monitor gas consumption.
• Respect the essential hygiene regulations and maintain exemplary conditions of hygiene in the working, kitchen and storage areas.

Education     

• Higher School Certificate 
• Knowledge of English.

Experience 

• Minimum three year of experience in a similar position with NGOs/INGOs.
• Proven Experience as cook.

Languages 

• Can Speak English with expats

Competencies 

• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
• Able to cope with stressful situations.
• Capacity to organize the work 

WORKING HOURS AND SALARY 

• Full Time
• Salary will be paid according to the SIF salary grid.
