Community Mobilizer

Project Location: Yemen, Aden Gov. 
Based: Aden office
Application Deadline:    05- JUL -2022

Reports to: Nutrition Officer
Duration of Initial Contract: 4 months with property of extension

Background

The Society for Humanitarian Solidarity (SHS) is a nonprofit humanitarian NGO based in the in Aden, Yemen. It was founded in 1995.The SHS provides assistance to refugees and migrants who arrive in Yemen every year. The organization also assists the local community in Yemen. The NGO won the Nansen Refugee Award, dedicated by the UNCHR. SHS has partnerships with UNCHR, OCHA, and WFP.

Project overview:

“With the funding of WFP, SHS has implemented a project for community- based supplementary feeding program BSFP in Aden governorates as preventive measures to fight malnutrition in Yemen especially in the vulnerable people.

Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Responsible for the CHVs activates 
  • Responsible for mobilizing the children and PLWs to the FDPs.
  • Organize health education sessions according to needs:
  • Make a list of priorities in terms of information and awareness on questions of hygiene,care practices, health and nutrition – 
  • work in collaboration with District coordinator and filed monitor;
  • Define content of each thematic area;
  • Adapt the methodology and health education support to the relevant public in order to make them attracted

Qualifications and requirements    

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • work experience in Community mobilizing in nutrition activity.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluating education programs
  • Good interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Ability to handle a large volume of work and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong Computer Skills MS Office Excel and Access.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills attention to detail.
  • An applicant who is a resident of Seera Directorate is preferred
