Background
The Society for Humanitarian Solidarity (SHS) is a nonprofit humanitarian NGO based in the in Aden, Yemen. It was founded in 1995.The SHS provides  assistance to refugees and migrants who arrive in Yemen every year. The organization also assists the local community in Yemen. The NGO won the Nansen Refugee Award, dedicated by the UNCHR. SHS has partnerships with UNCHR, OCHA, and WFP.

Project Coordinator:
SHS is urgently looking for a Project Coordinator who will be based in Aden at SHS/WFP Cash Based Transfer project. 
The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the Cash Based Transfer operations in the SHS WFP project. 
She / He will work hand in hand with the targeted beneficiaries in Shabwa and Aldhale governorates in promoting efficient and effective implementation of the project at the highest humanitarian level.
The position will be in direct supervision of Programme Manager.

Project Coordinator - Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leading and supervising the targeted beneficiaries in Shabwa and Aldhale and project operations
  • Support the project implementation as well as the field staff performance management and Cash empowerment and staff development regarding the CBT programme and guidance and expected outputs and outcomes.
  • Ensuring regular communication and interaction between the targeted beneficiaries, Kuramimi agents and WFP.
  • Fostering effective relationships with Alkuraimi Bank management, local authorities as well as  
  • Ensuring networking, coordination and collaboration with main partners.
  • Validate the daily, weekly and monthly output report as progress reports from the different field offices and consolidate it.
  • Assist in project proposals and other documentation relating to WFP supported projects/programmes, 
  • Produce final and consolidated output reports and submitted to the Project Manager at the agreed period and in good quality.
  • Take periodic monitoring visits to the Field Offices and produce back to office reports 
  • Attend and proactively contribute to the Weekly staff meeting, Monthly staff meetings and periodic WFP Coordination Meetings 
  • Take pro-active measure and ensure to report fraud, corruption, harassment, abuse or any other acts of wrongdoing by field staff.

Professional Qualification and relevant experiences

  • At least a Bachelor degree on social science degree in a related discipline would also be considered.
  • Proven training and or understanding of humanitarian operation in Yemen 
  • A proven experience in vulnerability, food security, Cash assistance, malnutrition working with displaced people and refugee operation in Yemen 
  • Ensuring regular communication and interaction between the local authorities at all level, field staff, and other partners operating in the same project areas
  • Value added with previous experience in project implementation and working with WFP, UNHCR, UNICEF, UNFPA and or INGO and/or LNGO supported projects
  • At least 2 years of progressive experience humanitarian programs for displaced, refugees or rural communities. Experience gained within an international humanitarian L/INGO will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in project cycle management, report writing, input & output and outcomes interpretation and excellent computer skills.
  • Proving skills especially accountability, integrity, supervising, productivity, good communication, problem solving, teamwork, 
  • Take pro-active measure and ensure to report fraud, corruption, harassment, abuse or any other acts of wrongdoing by field staff.
  • High level of motivation, integrity, commitment and professional responsibility.
