ABOUT FMF:
The Field Medical Foundation (FMF) has been operating in Yemen for since 2012 during even the most dangerous peak of the conflict in the region. Our staff of dedicated professionals and passionate volunteers are the helping hand that delivers aid from local and/or international partners to those who require it the most, in a country that was already suffering before the war. Today we have helped humanitarian aid reach the hands of more than 9 million vulnerable people in Yemen to help them not only to survive but also to rebuild their lives. We aim to provide a comprehensive approach to providing aid through interventions, which is why we work in almost all sectors of international emergency relief.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule and organize sessions for vaccine distribution.
- Implement immunization campaigns in targeted areas.
- Collect and prepare vaccines and necessary medical supplies.
- Administer vaccines safely and effectively.
- Provide details about available vaccines, their benefits, and potential side effects.
- Offer guidance on vaccination schedules and the importance of preventive immunization.
- Accurately record information and data about beneficiaries and distributed doses.
- Prepare reports on progress and completed immunizations.
- Offer care and support during the immunization process.
- Assist individuals with anxiety or fear of needles and manage potential side effects.
- Monitor vaccine quality and safety.
- Report any potential issues or side effects to local health offices.
- Work with doctors, nurses, and health officials to set goals and implement immunization programs efficiently.
- Ensure proper and safe storage of vaccines and medical supplies.
- Supervise transportation and distribution to maintain quality and safety.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Education
- Essential: University degree in medicine is required
- Desirable: Training in epidemiology of communicable diseases
Experience
- Essential: At least 2 years of relevant experience in communicable diseases prevention and control, immunization programme, vaccine preventable diseases surveillance and data management
Requirements and skills
- Broad knowledge in Immunization and surveillance systems delivery.
- Understanding Immunization Issues, constraints and opportunities in introduction of new vaccines in the Country Office.
- Sound knowledge of country level situations with regard to Polio and vaccine-preventable diseases and immunization programmes, their development and management with good understanding of relevant country needs, priorities and policies, along with WHO's policies, practices, guidelines and procedures in the related areas and ability to apply them in the country office setting.
- Excellent knowledge of disease burden and surveillance for vaccine preventable diseases.
- Ability to analyse polio and immunization program data, to identify issues and make evidence-based conclusions and recommendation.
- Ability to structure and articulate complex technical issues.
- Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills by working harmoniously as a member of a team and maintaining a high standard of tact and patience.
- Good knowledge of WHO's procedures and policies are highly desirable.
