Purpose of the Position:

Based in Aden, Yemen. Under the supervision of the HR Assistant, the Cook is responsible for performing all Cook-related duties. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas:

• Preparing food for SIF Expat staff and lunch for national staff, in accordance with the rules of hygiene.
• Ensure all utilities – e.g. water, gas – are maintained at SIF-GH.
• Ensure compliance with all SIF logistics and admin/finance rules and regulations.
• The cook with other office staff is responsible for the security of materials/equipment in the GH.
• Provide full cleaning services at SIF GH Kitchen and dining area in order to keep them clean, hygienic and pleasant. 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cook the food and tea for Expatriates and national staff from Sunday to Thursday.
• Keep the kitchen, cooking utensils, refrigerator, and microwave clean; Disinfect the refrigerator regularly.
• Inform his/her line manager of any Kitchen/cleaning equipment required and of any missing or damaged materials.
• Wash/Clean the kitchen floors with disinfectants.
• Evaluate gas needs and monitor gas consumption.
• Respect the essential hygiene regulations and maintain exemplary conditions of hygiene in the working, kitchen and storage areas.

Qualifications and Requirements
 
Education

• Higher School Certificate
• Knowledge of English.

Experience

• Minimum three year of experience in a similar position with NGOs/INGOs.
• Proven Experience as cook.

Languages

• Can speak English with expats

Competencies

• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
• Able to cope with stressful situations.
• Capacity to organize the work
