Overall Objective

The Electrical & Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and timely installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in health facilities. This includes solar-powered electrical systems, air conditioning units, and general facility electrical works, contributing to uninterrupted operations and service delivery.

Scope of Work and Core Responsibilities

Technical Tasks 

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance of electrical systems within health facilities.
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair solar-powered electrical systems, including panels, batteries, inverters, and controllers.
• Conduct regular inspection and maintenance of air conditioners (split units, central ACs, etc.) to ensure efficient functionality.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns, electrical faults, and maintenance requests.
• Ensure proper wiring, safety standards, and compliance with national regulations and organizational policies.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, spare parts used, and service reports.
• Provide technical input and recommendations on upgrades, energy efficiency, and sustainable solutions.
• Support procurement team by identifying technical specifications of spare parts and equipment.
• Train facility staff on safe usage and basic troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety standards during all maintenance and repair activities.

Working Conditions

• Frequent visits to assigned health facilities based on the needs. 
• Field-based role requiring flexibility and availability to respond to emergencies outside of regular working hours if needed.

Reporting Lines:

• The Electrical/Maintenance Technician will report directly to the Health and Nutrition Program Manager
