We are seeking qualified candidates for future opportunities across various sectors, including Shelter, CCCM, Protection, WASH, FSL, Health, and Education. Job Title: Engineer Officer

Reporting to: Project Coordinator

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical field assessments and prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, Bill of Quantities (BoQs), technical specifications, and cost estimates for Shelter/CCCM/ Protection/WASH/FASC/Health / Education and infrastructure.
  • Supervise daily construction and rehabilitation works, manage contractors, consultants, and suppliers, and ensure strict compliance with project timelines, budget, and quality standards.
  • Prepare tender documents, participate in the technical evaluation of bids, and support procurement processes to ensure high-quality selection.
  •  Incorporate Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA), Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), and environmental mitigation measures into physical designs and infrastructure interventions.
  •  Coordinate closely with programs, logistics, finance, supply chain, and M&E teams, and represent NMO in relevant sector and cluster coordination meetings.
  • Prepare high-quality technical progress reports, document success stories, and build the capacity of technical and field teams.
  • Develop Operations & Maintenance (O&M) plans to ensure the long-term sustainability of implemented infrastructure assets before community handover.
  • Perform any other tasks that may be requested by the direct manager or required by NMO.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in civil, Architectural, Agricultural, or Water & Environmental Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of practical field experience in engineering and infrastructure works, preferably within the humanitarian sector (specifically in Shelter, CCCM, WASH, or Agricultural projects).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and relevant hydraulic analysis software.

Key Competencies:

  • Excellent professional communication, leadership, and technical report-writing skills in English.
  • Strong commitment to humanitarian principles, accountability, community participation, and PSEA.
  • Willingness to travel to remote field locations and work in challenging environments.
