PRESENTATION OF THE ORGANIZATION
SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian NGO which, for more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their vital needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly involved in the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the first cause of death in the world, SI's interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in around twenty countries, SI's teams - 2000 people in total made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at headquarters, and a few volunteers - work with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.
Solidarités International (SI) is determined to prevent and fight all type of abuse – all act of exploitation, abuse and/or sexual harassment (SEAH) against members of beneficiary communities or collaborators, fraud, corruption, violation of persons and/or property, funding of activities harmful to human rights – that could be perpetrated in the frame of its interventions. SI implements a zero-tolerance policy regarding acts of SEAH.

DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION
Goal/Purpose of the Position:
The Women Inclusion Advisor ensures the integration of gender equality, women’s economic empowerment, and inclusive programming across all projects within the country office. The role provides strategic, technical and methodological leadership to strengthen inclusive to ensure programmes are gender-responsive, promote the meaningful participation and empowerment of women and girls, and strengthen equitable access to resources, services, and decision-making opportunities throughout the project cycle.
They contribute to the process of capitalization and the improvement of Solidarités International’s gender-related approaches and methodologies, and work in close collaboration with the program coordinator, economic resilience advisor, partners and the HQ Program Expertise and Quality Division.
ACTIVITIES
STRATEGIC ORIENTATION
- Contributes to the development and regular update of gender-responsive and inclusive programme strategy, aligned with SI global orientations.
- Provides strategic guidance on integrating gender equality and women’s empowerment across all programme areas.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND GENDER AND INCLUSION ADVISORY
- Leads gender inclusion and related assessment, ensuring women’s participation.
- Conducts or supports gender analyses to ensure gender sensitive programming through the identification of activities ensuring equal access to assistance, women’s participation, and promoting empowerment or leadership.
- Develops guidance/SoPs and methodologies to strengthen the meaningful and equitable participation and leadership of women and girls across SI’s programmes.
- Supports programme teams in integrating approaches that promote the meaningful participation and leadership of women and girls, including engagement with men and boys to address barriers and strengthen enabling environments, across programme studies, monitoring frameworks, tools, indicators and reporting.
- Oversees and monitors women economic inclusion and empowerment change pathways across SI’ programmes.
- Contributes to proposals and concept notes, including:
- Integration of gender-responsive approaches and indicators.
- Review of technical approaches to ensure equitable access and participation.
- Input to budgets to ensure adequate resources for gender inclusion activities.
- Evaluates programme relevance and effectiveness from a gender and inclusion perspective.
- In coordination with the MEAL team and relevant MEAL department at partners’ level ensures that related concerns/ gender sensitive (with specific focus on women and girls) MEAL systems (Complaint and Response Mechanisms, Monitoring and Evaluation plans, tools) are in place, enabling the identification of gender-related concerns and their appropriate referral.
- Provides support to implementing teams when referring towards appropriate protection and specialized support services, in line with established referral pathways.
- Identifies challenges early and facilitates practical solutions for effective program delivery.
- Tracks implementation of recommendations on gender integration.
- Conducts field visits and recommends adjustments to strengthen women’s engagement and outcomes.
CAPITALIZATION, INNOVATION AND KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT
- Compiles reports, knowledge briefs, and communication materials on women inclusion aspects.
- Contributes to the dissemination of innovative methodologies that promote women’s leadership and community-driven inclusive approaches.
- Documents lessons learned and best practices within their role and responsibilities.
- Identifies and disseminates key gender-related analyses (e.g. gender assessments, barriers to access, inclusion diagnostics).
- Promotes learning and exchange on gender inclusion within SI and with partners, and, in coordination with the Program Coordinator, organizes workshops and regular/ad hoc meetings.
EXTERNAL REPRESENTATION
- Represents SI in relevant gender, protection, and inclusion forums.
- Leads or participates in technical working groups to promote gender-responsive programming.
- Supports donor engagement by ensuring strong gender integration in proposals and reporting.
- Engages with relevant institutions, UN agencies and partners on policy dialogue related to gender mainstreaming, women inclusion and programmes.
CAPACITY BUILDING
- Assesses needs and builds the capacity of field teams/partners on gender inclusion, women economic and inclusion change pathways, mainstreaming across all SI’s programming, including women’s economic empowerment, financial inclusion, and ensuring safeguarding, accountability, and safe participation of women.
- Organise and facilitate training, develop frameworks of technical skills, and provide guidance to ensure gender considerations are integrated into day to day program work.
INTERNAL CONTROL
- Is responsible for ensuring the compliance of the documents they produce.
FILING AND ARCHIVING
- Is responsible for filing and archiving the documents they produce in accordance with internal procedures.
FIGHT AGAINST ABUSE
- Creates and actively contributes to the establishment of a working environment that prevents any inappropriate behaviour.
- Helps to raise awareness of SI’s ethical framework.
- At all times, respects the confidentiality of information exchanged in the context of a report and its handling.
- Implements measures to mitigate the risks of misconduct.
PARTNERSHIPS
- May contribute to the implementation of a support and capacity-building plan for SI partners
- Contributes to the Identification of new partners whose expertise and approaches are in line with strategic objectives regarding gender inclusion.
- May participate in the monitoring of partners’ activities in line with their role and responsibilities

Profile required
- University degree preferred graduate with bachelor’s in social sciences, economics, business management, development, gender/women’s studies.
- At least two years’ work experience in women economic empowerment preferred.
- Training and capacity building experience especially in women empowerment, gender inclusion/mainstreaming.
- Fluency in written and oral Arabic, advanced proficiency in written and oral English
- Strong reporting and communication skills.
- Strong skills in organization and prioritization to manage important workload.
- Good knowledge of Office software: Excel, Word, AI, Power Point, Outlook and familiarity with mobile devices
- Good analytical skills using Excel.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel regularly to the field.
