Its programs are supported by various country-based and international donors. It has presence in different Governorates in Yemen responding to 6 areas of humanitarian sectors. ADRA Yemen is undertaking programs in Yemen in the fields of health, nutrition, WASH, food security, livelihoods, and protection.

SUMMARY:
The Field Assistant is responsible to support the implementation of center-based protection, learning, and community outreach activities for children and adolescent girls. The role focuses on safe space programming, psychosocial support, girls’ empowerment, community awareness, and protection referrals, ensuring services are delivered safely, inclusively, and in line with child protection and safeguarding standards.
She/he will work in close collaboration with the Project Coordinator, Field Officer and the Protection and Gender Advisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Field Assistant will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Support establishment and operation of child and adolescent safe spaces.
- Facilitate structured psychosocial support (MHPSS) and play-based learning sessions.
- Lead adolescent girls’ clubs, peer educator groups, and life skills sessions (leadership, protection, digital literacy).
- Assist with case identification, documentation, and referrals for children and girls at risk.
- Support MHM awareness sessions and dignity kit distributions.
- Conduct community outreach and awareness campaigns on child protection, girls’ education, and GBV prevention.
- Facilitate participatory dialogues and social cohesion activities.
- Support non-formal learning, catch-up classes, and education retention initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to activity reports.
- Ensure strict adherence to safeguarding, confidentiality, PSEA, and Do No Harm.
- Adhere to the organization’s safeguarding framework, including Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), child protection, anti-harassment, and ethical conduct policies, ensuring alignment with international standards (e.g., Core Humanitarian Standard, UN CRC).
- Promptly report safeguarding concerns or violations through designated channels, maintain confidentiality, and participate in mandatory safeguarding training to uphold a safe, inclusive environment for all stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in social science, Psychology, Pedagogy, or any related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in child protection, GBV, education, or community-based programming, preferably in NGOs.
- Experience facilitating sessions with children and adolescent girls.
- Strong communication and community mobilization skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular).
- Good command of English and Arabic, both written and spoken
- Familiarity with Child- and survivor-centered approach; Strong facilitation and interpersonal skills; Cultural sensitivity and professionalism and ability to handle confidential information
- Knowledge of safeguarding and protection principles.
- Have an experience with ADRA is preferable and add value.
