Diversity Organization is a non-governmental and non-profit organization, licensed under number 24 in 2013 by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor. It operates in various humanitarian sectors with the aim of responding to the humanitarian crisis and contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals in Yemen.
Job Summary:
The FSL Officer is responsible for coordinating and implementing Food Security and Livelihood activities in Ad Dhale’e, including beneficiary selection, verification, cash distribution, and conducting awareness sessions for vulnerable farmers. The role ensures all interventions meet humanitarian standards and FSAC guidelines while supporting field teams and providing accurate, timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Activity Implementation & Field Coordination:
- Lead and coordinate the implementation of FSL activities across targeted communities.
- Beneficiary Management: A key part of the role is to identify and select project beneficiaries, often in close coordination with local teams. This includes conducting needs assessments, registering target families, and ensuring aid reaches the most vulnerable households.
- Supervise the selection, verification, and registration of eligible beneficiaries in accordance with project criteria.
- Oversee cash distribution processes, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and adherence to organizational and donor standards.
- Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and trainings for community committees (ensuring 30% female representation).
- Conduct market surveys and contribute to setting cash transfer values in line with FSAC standards.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress, identify challenges, and support field teams.
- Regularly monitor field activities, maintain working relationship between team member and community.
2. Community Engagement & Awareness
- Organize and run community meetings and workshops in a participatory and inclusive manner, to ensure that project activities are developed in consultation with communities. Conduct trainings as necessary.
- Sensitize local authorities and communities to project objectives, activities, and selection criteria.
- Keep close coordination and liaison with local authority and community committees, and partners to facilitate the implementation of the project activities.
- Ensure that community members understand project objectives, eligibility criteria, and distribution modalities.
- Coordinate closely with WASH and Health Officers to integrate food security with other project components.
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure that all FSL activities align with humanitarian standards and comply with FSAC guidelines and donor requirements.
- Monitor field activities to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability during beneficiary selection and assistance delivery.
- Identify risks and protection concerns and escalate them promptly to program management.
4. Accountability, Protection & Safeguarding:
- Promote protection mainstreaming, gender equality, and disability inclusion across all technical activities.
- Ensure that community feedback related to FSL is documented, addressed, and closed in coordination with the MEAL team and the Feedback and Complaints Mechanism (FCM).
- Ensure compliance with data protection principles and confidentiality of beneficiary information.
- Adhere to DO Code of Conduct and PSEA policies at all times; model safe and respectful behavior in the field.
5. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and submit timely, accurate, and comprehensive activity reports, including beneficiary lists, distribution reports, and field observations.
- Document success stories, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations for program improvement.
- Maintain complete and organized records of all FSL activities and field documentation.
- Perform any other tasks asked by supervisor
The duties and responsibilities listed above are not exhaustive, and additional tasks may be assigned as needed to support the effective implementation of the project.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Minimum of [3] years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably in the field of agriculture , humanitarian response or development.
- Experience in community engagement and participatory approaches.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Required Skills:
- Familiarity with FSAC standards and cash‑based programming approaches.
- Knowledge and understanding of project management principles, tools, and techniques.
- Strong coordination and networking skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent in English and Arabic (both written and spoken).
- Ability to conduct frequent field visits, including to remote and hard‑to‑reach areas.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to draft high-quality reports and analyze monitoring data.
