ABOUT FMF:

Today we have helped humanitarian aid reach the hands of more than 9 million vulnerable people in Yemen to help them not only to survive but also to rebuild their lives. POSITION SUMMARY:

The GBV and CP social workers will ensure that vulnerable women and children receive multisectoral case management services, which include timely and appropriate referrals to necessary services based on the complementary principle and the informed consent of the individuals. Also, working in collaboration with the health system to provide comprehensive care to survivors of GBV.

The GBV and CP Social Worker ensure the identification, assessment, and response to children at risk. Utilizing Best Interest Assessments (BIA) under the Best Interest Procedures (BIP), social workers will evaluate the needs of high-risk children, develop tailored case plans, and coordinate appropriate interventions. They will provide direct support, facilitate referrals, and continuously monitor service provision to ensure children receive the necessary care and protection. Unaccompanied and Separated Children (UASC) will be identified through self-referral, inter-sectoral project referrals, and external partner referrals.

The GBV and CP Social Worker will conduct all steps of the case management process for an assigned number of individual children vulnerable to abuse, exploitation, neglect, and violence and their families in this process and will be responsible for ensuring accurate and quality delivery of interventions.


POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide individualized, age-appropriate, comprehensive case management.

  • Provide accurate information on the referral pathway

  • Use the survivor-centered approach and help empower people seeking assistance

  • Monitor how the GBV referral pathway is working and advocate in the field for improved referral systems as needed.

  • Coordinate a positive referral pathway with other actors

  • Provide input for weekly and activity reports.

  • Ensure that data protection protocol is respected and ensure to keep complete and well-organized records.

  • Work closely with the project staff, partners, and work closely with health, Nutrition, and GBV team to cultivate collaboration and also report directly to the line supervisor.

  • Provide individual case management for children and ensure accurate documentation of case files based on CM steps, related tools, and procedures, while providing ongoing support to families.

  • Participate and support the identification of children harmed or at risk of harm.

  • Provide input for weekly and activity reports.

  • Directly communicate efficiently with other caseworkers to advocate, collaborate, and make referrals according to the best interests of children.

  • Supervise the activities related to individual case management for persons of concern in locations of intervention, in accordance with Case Management Supervisor guidelines and with relevant tools and procedures.

  • Ensure that data protection protocol is respected and ensure to keep complete and well-organized records.

  • Ensure accurate documentation and compilation of Case Management following case management.


QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • A high school or any other subject or any related field.

  • 2 years of experience working with I/NGOs in the GBV field and CP protection field, with prior seniority of project management experience.

  • Strong knowledge and skills of computers and prior experience working with smart data collection tools such as KOBO and respect for the confidentiality of data and information.

  • Proven ability in case management or social work

  • Excellent knowledge of the working environment

  • Proven understanding of working with Adolescents, children, and particularly vulnerable children.

  • Validated understanding of working with children particularly vulnerable children.

  • Personal qualities: Empathic, works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well, team leader, flexible, strong interpersonal skills with children, and caregivers, analytical skills, network-builder, able to handle pressure well and work in cross-cultural settings.

  • Deep understanding of Gender Based Violence, women’s protection and empowerment in the context of Yemen

  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, including computer skills
