Job Title: General Manager – Automotive Spare Parts (Aftermarket)

Location: Sana’a & Aden, Yemen (Frequent travel between both cities; regional travel across Middle East & Africa)

Reporting Line: Chief Executive Officer / Board of Directors

Role Purpose:

The General Manager – Automotive Spare Parts (Aftermarket) is responsible for leading and expanding the company’s automotive aftermarket spare parts business, covering sourcing, sales, distribution, and regional expansion. The role carries full executive accountability for commercial performance, operational efficiency, and profitability, with a strategic mandate to grow the business in Yemen and expand into Middle East and African markets.

The position includes full P&L ownership, market development, supply chain optimization, and leadership of cross-functional teams focused exclusively on the automotive sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Market Expansion:

  • Develop and execute the overall strategy for the automotive aftermarket spare parts business.
  • Drive business growth across Yemen and lead expansion into Middle East and African automotive markets.
  • Identify new market opportunities, distribution channels, and regional partnerships.
  • Define automotive product portfolio strategy covering passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles, and fleet requirements.
  • Represent the company at senior client, supplier, and regional automotive industry forums.

Supply Chain & Operations Management:

  • Oversee sourcing, procurement, warehousing, and distribution of automotive spare parts.
  • Build reliable OEM and aftermarket supplier networks and negotiate long-term supply agreements.
  • Ensure optimal inventory planning, demand forecasting, and stock optimization.
  • Improve logistics efficiency, lead times, and cost control.
  • Implement systems and processes to support regional scalability.

Financial Management & P&L Ownership:

  • Hold full P&L responsibility for the automotive spare parts aftermarket business.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance reviews.
  • Drive margin optimization, pricing strategies, and working capital management.
  • Strengthen credit control, receivables management, and cash flow discipline.
  • Approve major commercial contracts and supplier agreements.

Sales, Commercial & Customer Management:

  • Lead sales and business development strategy across all automotive aftermarket channels.
  • Build strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, workshops, retailers, and fleet customers.
  • Enhance customer retention through service quality, parts availability, and responsiveness.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and automotive aftermarket pricing dynamics.

People Leadership & Governance:

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing sales, operations, and supply chain team.
  • Establish clear KPIs, performance management, and accountability frameworks.
  • Promote a culture of ethics, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate governance, internal controls, and company policies.

Risk Management & Business Continuity:

  • Identify and mitigate supply chain, operational, and financial risks.
  • Ensure business continuity planning across Sana’a and Aden operations.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and decision-making processes.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • MBA or postgraduate qualification is a strong advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in automotive spare parts, aftermarket trading, or distribution businesses.
  • Proven experience in senior managerial or general management roles.
  • Demonstrated P&L management responsibility.
  • Strong exposure to automotive distributors, workshops, and retail networks.
  • Experience expanding automotive aftermarket businesses across Middle East and/or Africa is a strong advantage.

  • Willingness and flexibility to be based between Sana’a and Aden with frequent regional travel.
