Duration of Assignment: The employment contract is for one year, renewable based on satisfactory performance evaluation.

BCFHD is a non-profit, non-governmental humanitarian and development organization that was established in 1996 aiming at achieving Sustainable Development Goals and Humanitarian Response through implementing various programs and projects that provide humanitarian and development services to the community. BCFHD works in all governorates of the Republic of Yemen in humanitarian and development fields in several key sectors including Food Security & livelihoods, Education, Protection, WASH, and Shelter.
About the Position
BCFHD is seeking a qualified and motivated Logistics Assistant to support the efficient implementation of project activities by providing procurement, logistics, warehouse, transportation, and asset management support. The position plays a key role in ensuring that project materials, agricultural inputs, equipment, and services are procured, managed, and delivered in a timely, cost-effective, and compliant manner in accordance with BCFHD policies, consortium procedures, and donor requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The Logistics Assistant will:
- Support procurement processes, including preparation of procurement documentation, obtaining quotations, supplier follow-up, and purchase tracking.
- Coordinate the receipt, storage, inventory management, and distribution of project supplies, agricultural inputs, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain accurate warehouse and inventory records and support regular stock verification and inventory reconciliation.
- Support project asset registration, tracking, maintenance, and inventory management in accordance with organizational procedures.
- Coordinate transportation and delivery of goods, equipment, and materials to project sites and ensure timely logistical support for field activities.
- Maintain complete procurement, logistics, warehouse, transport, and asset management documentation to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
- Liaise with suppliers, service providers, project staff, and field teams to facilitate efficient project implementation.
- Support logistics arrangements for trainings, workshops, meetings, field missions, and other project events.
- Ensure compliance with BCFHD policies, consortium procedures, donor regulations, and applicable national laws.
- Perform any other logistics-related duties assigned by the Logistics Officer or Project Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Commerce, or another relevant field.
- Professional certification in procurement or logistics is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in logistics, procurement, warehouse management, or supply chain management, preferably with NGOs or international organizations.
- Experience supporting donor-funded humanitarian or development projects is highly desirable.
- Experience with procurement procedures, warehouse operations, asset management, and inventory control.
- Familiarity with EU-funded project procedures and donor compliance is an asset.
Required Competencies
- Good knowledge of procurement and logistics principles and procedures.
- Strong organizational, planning, and record-keeping skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and commitment to organizational policies and donor compliance.
- Fluency in Arabic; working knowledge of English is desirable.
