About the role
Overall purpose of the role:
Under the supervision of the Admin assistance /maintenance, to carry out installations, preventative maintenance and undertake routine inspections of the premises, furniture, fixtures, fittings, utilities.
Main responsibilities:
Maintenance Tasks
- Do All the required maintenance in Aden Office, GHs & WHs.
- Fitting, testing, repairing and replacing fixtures and fittings, including lightbulbs, windows, doors looks and handrails.
- Performing basic carpentry including hanging and replacing doors and operating power tools.
- To plan and perform regular visits to GHs, and WHs to identify any maintenance requirements and organize relevant response.
- Replace and fix all the damages in equipment, structures or assets in Aden.
- Make sure bathrooms of office & GHs taps, basins and toilets are working properly.
- Detecting, identifying and repairing building issues, like problems with the building's electrical, plumbing pipes and HVAC systems
- Handling all the required repairs and installation in office, GHs, WHs, and archive.
- Overseeing contractors when repairs and installations happen to ensure that work is completed on time and as specified.
- Check Solar systems and panels are Clean, Secure, no System Fault, Aren’t Corroded, Hasn’t Been Damaged, and Check Wiring.
- Inspect Office and GHs regularly to identify and prevent problems and structural damages.
- Performing general maintenance tasks for the building or buildings, such as window washing, drywall repair, plastering, carpentry, flooring repair, painting and more.
- Making and installing new furniture or equipment
- Ensure cleaners Follow maintenance procedures and ensure implementation
- Ensuring all safety systems are functioning properly, including smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
- Carry out a regular inspection of the office and GHs to identify and resolve issues
- Reporting requirements for repairs to management.
Administrative Tasks
- Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work as per forecasted workloads.
- Performing multifaceted general office support.
- Seek opportunities and offer suggestions to improve premises utilities consumption.
Experience and technical competencies:
- At least one year of professional experience in a similar position;
- Good command of English (written, read, and spoken);
- Good computer skills (MS Word and MS Excel);
- Able to work under pressure;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Experience and willingness to travel to field offices;
- Relevant NGO experience is preferable.
Education:
- Diploma degree in a relevant subject.
Languages:
- English preferred
- Arabic excellent

We Offer.
- Contract length: June 30, 2026
- Position Band: This position will be placed in the Non-Management (K) band. Reports to the Administration Team Leader.
- Start date: ASAP
- Duty station: Aden, Yemen
- Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s National Terms of Employment.
