Médecins Sans Frontières France is looking for Yemeni nationals to recruit for the following position:

BACK UP POOL FOR DAILY WORKER FEMALE MEDICAL DOCTOR 

Location: Haydan Hospital – Saada governorate.
Contract type: Daily Worker.
Reporting to: Medical Activities Manager (MAM) 
Opening date: August 5th, 2026

Haydan Hospital is a public hospital in Saada Governorate. MSF supports the emergency room, the paediatric ward, maternity, and the OPD since several years. OT started recently in 2020 currently; OBGYN activities launched in April 2026; as well, Outreach support to health facilities in Ghafrah and Dweib started in June 2026.

Key point about the position: 

1.    No accommodation will be provided; the selected candidate will manage accommodation herself.
2.    Only applications from candidates based in Saada region will be accepted.

Main Purpose

Provide emergency, outpatient and/or inpatient medical care to patients/beneficiaries according to adapted and updated medical knowledge, MSF protocols, values and universal hygiene standards to improve the patients/beneficiary’s health conditions.   

Accountabilities

  • Apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnose and prevention; carry out emergencies, outpatient and inpatient consultations, prescribing the necessary treatment according to MSF protocols.
  • According to the assigned working roster, perform outpatient consultations, emergency room consultations or inpatient follow up assessments and patient management.
  • Knows and ensures all MSF medical protocols are followed and implemented, checking universal precautions are followed at all times and reducing bio-hazard risks and improving infection control. 
  • Keep the patient and/or his/her family informed about the illness and provide appropriate explanations about the treatment to follow, checking they have understood.
  • Follow up the evolution of the hospitalized/IDP patients, through daily visits in the medical round, consultations and examinations, prescribing the necessary treatment de-pending on the patient’s condition and following MSF protocols, deciding whether they can be discharged or transferred to other departments – in collaboration with other medical staff e.g. HP informing their family about the patient’s evolution.
  • Ensure and perform detailed bedside as well as written handovers between shifts, especially for the critically ill patients in the department.  
  • Check and control the rational distribution of medicines and equipment under her responsibility and ensure about the quality, disinfection and sterilization of the medical material. Assure general compliance with standing hygiene standards.
  • Ensuring professionalism, patients’ confidentiality and dignity is highly respected.
  • Participate actively, understand and be involved in the mortality and morbidities review (MMR), and in the medical incident reporting system in the hospital when requested by his supervisors.
  • Ensure holistic and multidisciplinary management of the patient by collaborating with other departments and services, such as the physiotherapy, HP, Mental Health and Maternity services as needed.
  • Collaborate with other medical team members, including fellow medical doctors, nurses and other ancillary healthcare workers to ensure and provide the highest possible quality of care.
  • Collaborate with medical (MDS, and MAM…etc) and non-medical team (Log team and drivers) for smooth, intime and safe referral of the patients in need, as per the project referral criteria and SOP; assessed the patient properly, ensure the patient falls under the referral criteria, the availability of the service or planned management in the destination referral facility, checked by a senior staff e.g. MD anaesthetists or surgeon, and ensure medical stability of the case before the referral; for any referral, the MD should the approval from the direct line manager e.g. MAM.
  • Participate in training sessions as scheduled, maintain up to date knowledge and understanding of MSF guidelines and protocols.
  • Be flexible and take on any tasks that may be required in running the hospital services, tasks may change according to needs. 
  • Report and discuss complicated cases with the Medical Doctor supervisor and/or the specialist in the hospital.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to patient care, including documentation and completion of forms as per protocols.

  • Participate in the collection and analysis of epidemiological data, checking its validity and informing the line manager or project coordinator about any problem or complication of the patient’s illness, medical error and monitors the proper functioning of the department, equipment or material.
  • Attend the ongoing training of the medical/paramedical multidisciplinary team to optimize the quality of care.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Compulsory: Medical Degree (valid to practice in Yemen as G.P Doctor).
  • Education: Medical Doctor bachelor’s degree (MBBS), Desirable diploma in Tropical Medicine.
  • At least 1 years of working experience as a medical doctor in medical activities related jobs. (can be within medical training), Desirable in tropical medicine, or post-registration experience in Public Health, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, A&E, infectious diseases, TB, or general medicine.
  • Arabic (speaking, writing, and reading) essential 
  • English (speaking, writing, and reading) is essential.
  • Essential computer literacy (word, excel, internet).
