Job Title: Project Coordinator
Duty Station: Taiz
Contract Type: Full-time
Duration: 09 Months

Job Summary:

The Project Coordinator will ensure day-to-day coordination and oversight of all project activities across sectors in Taiz. The coordinator works under the guidance of the Project Manager and leads the planning, implementation, tracking, and reporting for field activities. Tasks include managing field coordination, supervising field officers, ensuring work plans are on track, and supporting cross-sectoral integration. Coordinate with local authorities, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure that project interventions are appropriate, inclusive, and aligned with humanitarian standards. The coordinator also ensures timely reporting, maintains communication between the field and the main office. He/ She will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

1.  Project Implementation

  • Develop and execute project plan in the field and schedule using appropriate tools with a focus on technical and operational; track progress and revise schedule and scope to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Lead and be personally responsible for achieving his/her project goals in the field.
  • Follow up with the project team on field implementation and needs
  • Communicate project objectives, scope, and expectations to project management, team members, and other stakeholders in a timely and clear manner.
  • Ensure adherence to project objectives, technical standards, and donor guidelines.

2. Coordination and Community Engagement

  • Liaise with local authorities, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation and avoid duplication.
  • Manage all coordination efforts with governorate-related authorities.
  • Conduct regular community meetings to explain project goals, timelines, and complaint mechanisms.

3. Staff and Performance Management

  • Provide supervision, coaching, and capacity building to field staff.
  • Organize training sessions on humanitarian standards, safety protocols, and community engagement.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting from field teams using standard formats.
  • Manages and evaluates the performance of the project staff.

4. Monitoring and Reporting

  • Monitor Project activities against indicators and timelines.
  • Identify and report challenges or delays, proposing solutions to maintain progress.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

5. Logistics and Warehouse Oversight

  • Supervise the storage and distribution of Project materials and tools.
  • Coordinate with Logistics staff to ensure accurate stock records and timely dispatch of supplies.
  • Support logistics and finance teams in processing documentation for payments and procurement.

6. Compliance and Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, including safety, protection, and accountability standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of all project activities, including beneficiary lists, distribution logs, and construction progress.
  • Uphold humanitarian principles of neutrality, impartiality, and non-discrimination.

7. Additional Responsibilities

  • Facilitate monitoring visits by donors, government officials, or third-party monitors.
  • Collaborate with logistics, finance, MEAL, and HR teams to support field operations.
  • Perform other related duties as required to ensure the success of the project sectors.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in humanitarian programming, including supervisory responsibilities
  • Experience working with NGOs and local communities is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Clusters standards, construction techniques, and humanitarian programming.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and reporting tools.
  • Native Arabic with Fluent English (written and spoken).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in challenging environments.
  • Familiarity with the humanitarian context in the targeted governorate.
  • Effective team leadership and supervision.
  • Strong community engagement and coordination skills.
  • Monitoring, reporting, and data management.
  • Commitment to humanitarian principles and accountability.
