Job Title: Senior Network Engineer

We are a leading company in the financial sector seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for experienced professionals with 4-6 years of hands-on experience in network design, implementation, and security. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our network infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining critical network components, including firewalls, routers, switches, and security solutions.

Skills & Experience

1-    Network Architecture & Design

• Design and implement scalable and secure enterprise network architectures.
• Develop and enforce network security frameworks in line with industry best practices.
• Assess existing network infrastructures and propose enhancements for performance, security, and scalability.
• Ensure redundancy and failover mechanisms are in place to guarantee high availability.
• Collaborate with IT leadership to align network infrastructure with business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) strategies.

2-    Network Deployment & Configuration

• Deploy and configure routers, switches, and firewalls to support mission-critical applications.
• Manage and optimize MikroTik devices, Cisco switches, and Fortinet firewalls for secure and efficient network operations.
• Implement and maintain VLANs, BGP, OSPF, QoS, and VPNs to improve network segmentation and traffic prioritization.
• Configure and support WAN, LAN, and cloud networking to ensure connectivity between branch offices and data centers.
• Develop network automation scripts for streamlined deployment and maintenance.

3-    Network Security & Access Control

• Design and enforce firewall rules, IPS/IDS policies, and security controls to protect against cyber threats.
• Monitor and analyze network traffic for anomalies, unauthorized access attempts, and potential intrusions.
• Implement Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) principles to enhance security posture.
• Work with SIEM tools to centralize log management and conduct forensic analysis in case of incidents.
• Ensure compliance with financial industry regulations and cybersecurity standards (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).

4-    Network Performance Optimization

• Conduct regular network performance evaluations and identify areas for optimization.
• Analyze and fine-tune bandwidth utilization, packet loss, and latency for seamless operations.
• Implement load balancing and traffic shaping strategies for optimal network efficiency.
• Lead initiatives for Wi-Fi optimization and enterprise wireless security.
• Maintain detailed network documentation, including topology diagrams, configurations, and troubleshooting logs.

5-    Troubleshooting & Incident Response

• Lead the resolution of complex network issues affecting system availability or performance.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring network outages and recommend permanent solutions.
• Respond to security incidents, ensuring rapid containment, mitigation, and recovery.
• Implement and manage network redundancy and backup solutions to minimize downtime.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve network-related issues impacting business operations.

6-    Cloud & Virtual Networking

• Design and manage hybrid cloud networks, integrating on-premises and cloud-based services.
• Implement secure VPNs and Direct Connect solutions to facilitate cloud connectivity.
• Work with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) solutions to enhance flexibility and automation.
• Monitor cloud security configurations and enforce best practices for compliance.

7-    Technical Leadership & Documentation

• Act as a technical mentor to junior engineers, providing training and guidance.
• Develop and maintain network policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practice guidelines.
• Conduct technical evaluations and vendor assessments for networking solutions.
• Collaborate with executive management to provide strategic insights into network technology investments.
• Stay updated with emerging networking trends, protocols, and cybersecurity threats.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CCNP, Fortinet NSE4 or higher, or MikroTik MTCINE are preferred.

Experience

• 4-6 years of experience in network engineering, security, and infrastructure management.
• Proven expertise in firewalls, routers, switches, and enterprise networking.
• Experience with financial industry networks is a plus.
