Role Purpose

Ruya Energy Company, a subsidiary of the Hayel Saeed Anam Group (HSA), specializes in implementing solar energy projects and is currently seeking a qualified Senior Solar Engineer. 

The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and implementing solar and electrical systems, managing field projects, and delivering innovative, efficient, and sustainable solutions to maximize project performance and results.

Scope Of Role

Main tasks and Responsibilities

• Designing and providing BoQs include details of technical specifications for the solar pump systems, off-grid systems, participate in PV diesel hybrid system as well as solar energy plants.
• Conduct quotations for customers. 
• Participate in procurement of items and goods for Ruya’s projects.
• Follow up Ruya’s projects implementation, customer services and providing solutions for the issues. 
• Participate in providing quotations for procurement and logistics of Ruya’s projects. 
• Conducting research to develop new renewable energy technologies and products that can be commercialized.
• Conducting research and analysis to develop new techniques for installing projects. 
• providing technical support. 
• Participate in applying of tenders along with operations personnel to assess or qualify the best technical offers.
• Create Daily Progress Site Reports. 
• Supervising and follow up of Ruya’s projects in office as well as in the field by using Ruya’s proceduers and methodology. 
• Interpret and apply standards: Review and fully understand the relevant IEC standards or any client-specific technical standards that apply to each task, and ensure all designs, installations and tests comply with those standards.
• Follow client permit-to-work procedures: Verify and obtain the required client permit-to-work authorizations prior to commencing any on-site activities; ensure all team members adhere to the permit conditions.
• Adhere to HSE best practices and client HSE procedures: Implement industry HSE best practices and strictly follow the client's HSE policies and procedures during all project phases, including site visits, installation, commissioning and maintenance.
• Conducting reports of activities. 
• Performing site Survey, evaluation and assessment of renewable energy (such as solar pumps, off and on grid systems and PV diesel hybrid systems) for Ruya’s projects. 
• Discussing and solving complex problems with all stakeholders, colleagues, contractors, suppliers, and beneficiaries.
• Making sure the installed systems can operate reliably and will perform consistently.
• Working with other professionals, within and outside the engineering sector.
• Meeting KPIs.
• Follow up  with clients for submitted offers.
• Other assigned tasks by the line manager.

Externally: Individual and organization clients, local and global companies, sub-contractors, Agents, Suppliers and engineers or consultants

Position Requirements

Qualifications    

• University Degree in Power Engineering/solar energy.

Experience    

• 3-5 years minimum experience in the industry in the following:
• Knowledge in solar energy systems. 
• Knowledge in solar pump systems 
• Experience in following up and supervision of projects 
• Knowladge in goods and items of solar energy and electrical power. 

Skills 

Essential Abilities/ Competencies of this job role    

• knowledge of Commercial aspects. 
• Strong knowledge of photovoltaic and electrical systems design, commissioning and optimizing system components for energy production
• Strong skills of supervising and following up with sub-contracts and clients.
• Self-development in knowledge and skills.
• Motivative to learn and study more.
• Experience reading and understanding technical specifications and drawings.
• Deep technical knowledge of standards and principles of engineering.
• A solid understanding of business cases and risk management processes 
• Must possess teamwork spirit, ability to work under minimum supervision.

• Proficient in MS office Package
