Position Title: Team Leader – Yemen

I. CONTEXT

Super Novae is a French non-profit organization specializing in youth empowerment in conflict-affected countries, with a strong focus on employability and entrepreneurship. With deep experience in conflict-sensitive environments and an extensive network of partners, Super Novae designs and implements impactful, real-time monitored programs combining human expertise and technological innovation.
In Yemen, Super Novae has implemented multiple donor-funded projects (including from the Islamic Development Bank and Aliph Foundation), targeting both conservation heritage and entrepreneurship. The Yemen team currently comprises five staff members.

II. ROLE PURPOSE

The Team Leader will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of Super Novae’s programs in Yemen. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Team Leader will oversee the effective implementation of projects, ensure alignment with donor agreements, and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders including the French Embassy and the internationally recognized government.

III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide strategic leadership and direction across all projects.
• Ensure project implementation is in full alignment with design, donor agreements, and organizational objectives.
• Lead a high-performing team, offering technical, operational, and managerial support.
• Supervise all technical, financial, and administrative aspects of the program.
• Establish and sustain strong relationships with donors, government entities, and partners.
• Ensure high-quality delivery of both conservation heritage and entrepreneurship components.
• Represent Super Novae in coordination forums and public engagements as needed.
• Monitor program progress and ensure timely, high-quality reporting and deliverables.
• Oversee security measures in collaboration with the Head of Security and CEO.

IV. DELIVERABLES

• Monthly narrative report detailing office activities and field progress.
• Timely and complete submission of all project-specific deliverables.

V. CANDIDATE PROFILE

Minimum Qualifications:

• University degree in Political Science, International Relations, Communication, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.

Required Experience & Skills:

• Proven ability to work under pressure, manage multiple deadlines, and deliver high-quality work.
• Experience in managing large-scale, multi-stakeholder international development programs.
• Strong leadership, team-building, and cross-cultural management capabilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience in projects combining conservation heritage and entrepreneurship is a strong asset.
• Proactive and problem-solving mindset with strong organizational skills.

VI. LOCATION & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

• Duty station: Aden/Hadramout, Yemen.
• The role involves travel within government-controlled areas and international travel as required.

VII. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

• Full-time position under Yemeni labor law.
