The IT Officer will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring its optimal performance, security, and reliability. This includes managing Cisco switches, Sophos firewalls, Unifi Wi-Fi networks, and ESXi servers in the data center as well as managing systems. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless IT operations, implement security measures, and provide technical support to end-users.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support:

• Provide technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with devices such as laptops, desktops, printers, and mobile devices.
• Maintain an IT helpdesk system and ensure timely resolution of tickets.
• Monitor and maintain IT systems, ensuring they meet organizational requirements.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and directory services, such as Active Directory, LDAP, ERP or MIS.
• Update and patch IT systems, including operating systems and applications, to mitigate vulnerabilities.

Network Management:

• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco switches to ensure efficient and secure network connectivity.
• Implement and maintain VLANs, routing protocols, and network policies on Cisco devices.
• Manage and optimize the performance of Unifi Wi-Fi infrastructure, including Access Points, controllers, and guest networks.

Firewall and Security Management:

• Configure, monitor, and maintain Sophos firewalls, including setting up VPNs, content filtering, intrusion prevention, and firewall rules.
• Regularly update firewall firmware and manage logs to detect and mitigate threats.
• Implement and enforce network security policies to protect the organization's digital assets.

Server and Virtualization Management:

• Manage VMware ESXi servers in the data center, including virtual machines, storage, and backup solutions.
• Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure uptime and reliability.
• Implement disaster recovery solutions and ensure data integrity through regular backups.

IT Infrastructure Planning and Documentation:

• Participate in the planning and implementation of IT infrastructure upgrades and improvements.
• Maintain accurate documentation for network topology, system configurations, and IT procedures.
• Provide recommendations for hardware and software procurement to align with organizational goals.

Compliance and Best Practices:

• Ensure all IT systems comply with organizational policies and relevant regulations.
• Stay updated on IT industry trends and emerging technologies to propose improvements.
• Conduct periodic IT audits to identify gaps and suggest actionable improvements.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure management or a similar role.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of Cisco switch configurations, including VLANs, trunking, and routing.
• Expertise in managing Sophos firewall configurations and security protocols.
• Experience with Unifi Wi-Fi setup, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in VMware ESXi and virtualized environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.

Certifications (Preferred):

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher.
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent.
• CompTIA Network+, Security+, or equivalent.
