Overview:

The European Union Delegation to Yemen is focused on enhancing the visibility and understanding of its partnership with Yemen, targeting key groups such as women, youth, civil society, and local authorities. This initiative aims to create high-impact strategic communication content that showcases the EU’s contributions to Yemen’s resilience, addressing basic needs, and fostering growth. Yemen Aid, the implementation partner, is now seeking a skilled Research Consultant to support a project aimed at mapping and analyzing the EU-Yemen partnership, identifying communication channels, and helping produce data-driven content.

• Position: Research Consultant
• Location: Aden, Yemen
• Contract Duration: 6 months with the potential for renewal

Role Overview: The Research Consultant will lead data collection, analysis, and visualization efforts to inform strategic communication aimed at enhancing the EU’s presence and partnership with Yemen. This includes providing insights, identifying key communication channels, and insights about creating content that resonates with Yemeni audiences, particularly focusing on the EU’s contributions to key areas such as development, peacebuilding, and economic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a comprehensive research plan outlining methodologies, data sources, and tools.
• Examine and analyze internal documents, including the proposal and previous communication guidelines and supportive documents.
• Design research surveys and interviews to gather qualitative and quantitative data.
• Map and analyze key EU-Yemen partnership information, including stakeholders (completed, ongoing, and future projects).
• Provide data visualizations and reports, including actionable insights and recommendations.
• Identify key communication channels and partnerships (including media, influencers, and local authorities) to amplify messages about the EU’s impact in Yemen.
• Lead the development of human-interest stories, infographics, and reports to support strategic communication efforts.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in research, especially in international development, communication, or related fields.
• Strong analytical and data visualization skills.
• Familiarity with Yemen’s socio-political context.
• Proven experience in designing research methodologies and managing data collection processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (C2 level required) as all deliverables for this position will be in English.
