ABOUT FMF

The Field Medical Foundation (FMF) has been operating in Yemen since 2012, even during the most dangerous peak of the conflict in the region. Our staff of dedicated professionals and passionate volunteers are the helping hand that delivers aid from local and/or international partners to those who require it the most, in a country that was already suffering before the war.

To date, we have helped humanitarian aid reach the hands of more than 9 million vulnerable people in Yemen, helping them not only to survive but also to rebuild their lives. We aim to provide a comprehensive approach to aid through interventions, which is why we work in almost all sectors of international emergency relief.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

FMF is implementing a new health and nutrition project in the western coast. The response focuses on providing integrated Health and Nutrition Services to vulnerable people in the following districts:

• Hays and Al Khawkha (Al Hudaydah Governorate)
• Al Makah and Moz’e (Taiz Governorate)

The assistance is being provided to both host communities and internally displaced persons (IDP) sites.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee all activities in the targeted health facilities in Hays and Al Khawkha districts.
• Coordinate with stakeholders (GHO, DHO, and other IPs) to ensure smooth project implementation.
• Ensure health facilities and other project implementation sites have all the required inputs for a quality program.
• Conduct regular supportive supervision of the targeted health facilities.
• Compile and submit quality supervision reports with action points after each supervision, and follow up on the action points.
• Ensure all health facilities have adequate medicines, nutritional commodities, and medical supplies to run activities smoothly.
• Ensure the availability of registration books, reporting formats, beneficiary cards, and other recording/reporting tools in all health facilities.
• Conduct on-the-job training for staff on using records and reporting formats.
• Provide technical support to HCWs and CHNVs, and build their capacity when needed.
• Conduct regular meetings with community leaders and health committees to gather feedback on program quality and update them on activity progress.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the line manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine, Public Health, or a related medical field.
• One year of experience in Health and Nutrition Projects.
• Previous training in CMAM, IMCI, or MISP is essential.
• Experience in coordination with GHO, DHO, and community committees and leaders.
• Reporting skills are required.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills are highly preferred.
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in resource-constrained environments are highly preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Proficiency in both English and Arabic languages.
