Médecins Sans Frontières France is looking for Yemeni nationals to recruit for the following position:

Daily Worker Pool for Mechanic

Location: Base in Haydan full time  
Reporting to: Logistics Supervisor
Contract Type: No contract involved. Only being part of Daily worker pool.
Duration: Upon request according to the needs

Main Purpose

Performing autonomously, complex / advanced servicing, maintenance and repair of MSF vehicles and other engines, such as generators and motor pump, according to MSF standards and procedures, in order to ensure all are in perfect running conditions. 

Responsibilities

• Follow up maintenance according to the instructions in the logbook, ensuring all type of services to all vehicles are done on time (i.e. mini A, medium B and full C, and special services). 
• Testing all vehicles after each service is concluded and before it is handed back to its driver. 
• Keeping record of vehicle’s driver remarks, and carrying out repairs if needed (vehicles and other mechanical equipment)
• In the case of a breakdown, lease with country mechanic to make a diagnosis, informing the line manager and after approval, coordinate country mechanic specialist to do the repair.   
• Assisting in the briefing or training of drivers regarding vehicle services and maintenance. 
• Managing the stock of consumable items, filling in the stock cards, carrying out physical stock inventories, executing orders necessary for renewing stock, avoiding any shortage 
• Responsible for the equipment and tools, including extinguishers, checking they are correctly and safely used, maintaining and renewing them when necessary and keeping the inventory updated. 

Context Specific Accountabilities

• Perform preventive maintenance for vehicles and make sure to be done on time (i.e. mini A, medium B, and special services referred in logbook when possible).
• Follow up and plan for service C, lease with Country Mechanic Specialist to plan and send the vehicle to AMTC Sana’a Workshop. 
• Preform preventive maintenance for generators and make sure to be done on time (i.e. mini A, medium B, special services). 
• In case the corrective maintenance / repair done by a contractor; supervise the quality of the work and make sure the job is completed according to terms in the contract agreed and timeline. 
• Ensuring all spare parts purchased are genuine, lease with country mechanic specialist to validate and approve purchases of spare parts, equipment and other needed items for vehicles and generators. 
• Ensuring the purity of fuel  in storage, piping system and filters as well the cleanness of fuel storage area, replacing fuel filter for fuel pump regularly as per maintenance plan / according to the need, make sure to have adequate numbers of fuel pump spare parts & filters in the stock. 
• Follow up with preventive maintenance for ID300 and motor pump according to MSF standard, protocols and maintenance plans also order and follow up for any spare parts needed.

Competencies

• Education: Essential diploma in mechanics or related studies.
• Experience: Demonstrable mechanical experience. (Minimum 3 years’ experience). experience with 4x4 Land cruiser and Heavy-duty generators will be and added advantage 
• Languages: Essential mission language and local language 
• Knowledge: Essential driving license for vehicles.
