Job Purpose

Pure Hands is seeking qualified contract Field Engineers (on a consultancy basis) to contribute to and oversee construction and rehabilitation works in targeted schools, hospitals, and other infrastructure facilities. These roles require consistent field presence to ensure quality standards, safety compliance, and timely execution of infrastructure activities in line with the project scope.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site assessments and prepare BoQs and drawings.
• Supervise rehabilitation of classrooms, WASH units, and learning spaces, with regular field visits and continuous site presence during critical activities.
• Ensure construction is climate-resilient and disability-inclusive.
• Monitor contractor performance, materials quality, and timelines, maintaining daily site logs and photo documentation.
• Prepare progress reports and maintain engineering documentation.
• Coordinate with local authorities, contractors, and field teams, including scheduling site meetings and acceptance inspections.
• Support procurement processes by verifying technical specs and conducting field-based verification of delivered materials.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental norms, enforcing site HSE measures.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
• At least 3 years of experience in construction project supervision.
• Experience in education infrastructure projects is an asset.
• Experience in the field assessment surveys and geometric projection. 
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, Microsoft office application and architectural drawing, engineering tools.
• Fluency in Arabic; English proficiency is desirable.

• Strong technical and supervisory skills, including proficiency in calculating execution costs; expertise in analyzing quotations, procurement processes, and supply works; and solid knowledge of local material prices with the ability to assess types, quality, and availability.

• Ability to operate effectively in remote field environments, including frequent travel across governorates and extended time on construction sites.

Engagement Details (Contract/Consultancy)

• Contract type: Short-term consultancy, issued per assignment, task order, or milestone; duties are field-based.
• Level of effort: As defined in each work order; substantial field deployment and travel required.
• Deliverables: Site assessment reports, BoQs and drawings, supervision logs, photo documentation, and periodic progress reports, as applicable.
• Payment terms: Remuneration based on deliverables, verified timesheets, or milestones as specified in the consultancy agreement; approved invoices required.
• Compliance: Must adhere to Pure Hands’ safeguarding, safety, environmental, and ethical standards, as well as local regulations.
• Tools and logistics: Consultants are expected to utilize their own professional tools where applicable; project-related travel and logistics will follow agreed policies and approvals. Field mobility (e.g., frequent site visits) is integral to the role.
