2- Overall Purpose :    

 The Education Assistant will contribute to the effective delivery of education interventions in conflict-affected areas of Marib. The role involves field-level support in implementing educational activities, coordinating with schools and communities, facilitating distribution of materials, and helping create inclusive and protective learning spaces. The Education Assistant serves as a key link between schools, beneficiaries, and the project team to ensure that children and youth have sustained access to quality learning opportunities.

3- Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Field Implementation and Support

• Participate in the rollout of education activities, including classroom and latrine rehabilitation, ensuring safety and quality standards.
• Assist in the delivery of individual learning kits, hygiene materials, menstrual care kits, and classroom supplies.
• Support outreach to out-of-school children and their families to promote enrollment and continued attendance.
• Help organize school feeding initiatives and monitor distribution in collaboration with school staff.

Community Engagement and Inclusion

• Coordinate with Father-Mother Councils (FMCs), local education stakeholders, and parent groups to strengthen community involvement.
• Contribute to community awareness sessions that promote child rights, inclusive education, and school attendance—especially for girls and children with disabilities.
• Provide support in reactivating and training FMCs on their roles in emergencies, life skills, and protection practices.

 Capacity Building and Protection

• Support training delivery for teachers and school management on pedagogy, child-centered teaching, MHPSS, and disaster preparedness.
• Identify and refer students in need of psychological or protection services in line with safeguarding protocols.
• Ensure child safeguarding and gender-sensitive approaches are applied during all education activities.
• Monitoring and Documentation
• Collect attendance sheets, beneficiary lists, and activity reports from field visits in a timely and accurate manner.
• Document feedback from beneficiaries and flag issues or risks to the Project Officer.
• Assist in field assessments, data collection, and reporting on school-level needs.

4-    Job Requirements : 

• -    A university degree or diploma in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
• -    Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in education programming or humanitarian work.
• -    Experience working directly with schools, teachers, or community groups is desirable.
• -    Good command of Microsoft Office applications.
• -    Fluency in Arabic is essential; basic English is an advantage.
• -    Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• -    Commitment to serving children and upholding child protection principles.
• -    Ability to work under pressure and travel to field locations.
• -    Respect for cultural norms and sensitivity to community dynamics.
• -    Organized, dependable, and motivated to learn.

Work Conditions

• This position is based in Marib Governorate, with frequent field visits to targeted districts and schools.  Travel to remote areas and working in challenging environments is expected..
