NPA is seeking an EORE/CPP Team Leader for its program in Yemen.
Job purpose.
The position requires good interpersonal skills and ability to adapt, meet, interact, and relate with people at all levels. He/she must be highly self-motivated and be able to endure conditions and extended periods of work. Clear understanding of the NPA Operations SOP is required.
The position is based in Aden, Marib, and Taiz with travels within the country.
The position reports to the CPP Project Coordinator
Responsibilities.
- EORE/CPP Team Leader is responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination, and tasking of their designated EORE/CPP team.
- Organize in advance dates and timings for EORE/CPP sessions in collaboration with communities and national/local authorities.
- Facilitate EORE/CPP trainings, workshops, and meetings within specified places and times.
- Responsible for the timely collection, recording, and submission of operational reporting and data via NPA’s electronic Survey123 reporting system and national formats.
- Responsible for EORE/CPP training aids, equipment, and materials (posters, banners, pamphlets, etc.) and maintenance of a documented inventory.
- maintain a clear time sheet for team members, attendance/absence records, weekly movement plans, use of rental vehicle, NPA phone and if any invoices etc. in accordance with NPA rules.
- Ensure safe and efficient transportation of EORE/CPP personnel, equipment and materials.
- Understand and implement each donor’s definition of direct and indirect beneficiaries.
- Within the guidelines provided by NPA, conduct EORE/CPP trainings in communities to impart to beneficiary’s information that increases awareness of explosive weapons, conflict-related risks, and associated safety measures.
- Achieve project targets and requirements in terms of number of sessions and number of beneficiaries per session.
- Daily coordination of trainings and project activities with the NPA Operation Manager and Project Coordinator.
- Provide regular updates to NPA regarding the security situation and developments on the ground.
- Conduct pre- and post-training tests/surveys with project beneficiaries to measure project results.
- Collect and report beneficiary feedback on training sessions and content.
- Create and cultivate good relationships with communities in and around NPA area of responsibility.
- Maintain good communication with partner organizations and local communities.
- Facilitate community dialogue with national Mine Action authorities to enhance public safety.
- coordinate EORE/CPP activities with government officials, attend on behalf of NPA in local meetings, brief officials on the NPA activities.
- Advise NPA on any actions needed to protect civilians from the explosive weapons more effectively (if any).
- Any other reasonable project-related duties assigned by the NPA Operation manager
Required qualification
Education
- High school level diploma
- Good command of English and Arabic - both speaking and writing.
- Good computer skills.
Experience
- Must have passed basic Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE/CPP) training-of-trainers course components.
- Be conversant with basic map reading.
- Three years of work within a risk education role.
Basic Requirements
- Minimum 18 years old.
- No criminal record.
- No conflicts of interest.
- License holder and capable of driving a manual car
- Able to travel independently and stay several nights in other locations
- Not listed as a sanctioned individual or associated with a sanctioned organization under the relevant sanctions lists.
- Ability to travel and reside in the target project location(s) for extended periods of time.
- Suitable health and fitness sufficient for long-duration deployments and operations.
