NPA is seeking an EORE/CPP Team Member for its program in Yemen.

Job purpose.

The position requires good interpersonal skills and ability to adapt, meet, interact and relate with people at all levels. He/she must be highly self-motivated and be able to endure conditions and extended periods of work. Clear understanding of the NPA Operations SOP is required 
The position is based in Aden, Marib, and Taiz with travels within the country.

The position reports to the EORE/CPP Team Leader

Responsibilities.  

  • Organize in advance dates and timings for EORE/CPP sessions in collaboration with communities and national/local authorities.
  • Within the guidelines provided by YEMAC, YMACC, and NPA, conduct EORE/CPP/CPP trainings in communities to impart to beneficiaries information that increases awareness of explosive weapons, conflict-related risks, and associated safety measures.
  • Conduct EORE/CPP trainings, workshops, and meetings within specified places and times.
  • Provide the EORE/CPP Team Leader with timely and accurate operational reporting data.
  • Responsible for EORE/CPP and training aids, equipment, and materials (posters, banners, pamphlets, etc.) and maintenance of a documented inventory.
  • Distribute EORE/CPP and print materials to project beneficiaries in line with NPA and YMACC direction.
  • Ensure safe and efficient transportation of EORE/CPP personnel, equipment and materials.
  • Understand and implement each donor’s definition of direct and indirect beneficiaries.
  • Achieve project targets and requirements in terms of number of sessions and number of beneficiaries per session.
  • Provide the EORE/CPP Team Leader with information and updates which can assist in the decision-making of NPA regarding the security situation and developments on the ground.
  • Conduct pre- and post-training tests/surveys with project beneficiaries to measure project results.
  • Collect and report beneficiary feedback on training sessions and content.
  • Create and cultivate good relationships with communities in and around NPA area of responsibility.
  • Maintain good communication with partner organizations and local communities.
  • Facilitate community dialogue with national Mine Action authorities to enhance public safety.
  • Any other reasonable project-related duties assigned by the operations manager and project coordinator  

Required qualification

General

  • Must have passed basic Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE/CPP) training-of-trainers course components.
  • Be able to use a laptop, mobile phone, and relevant software applications.
  • Be from and familiar with communities in areas affected by ERW and mines

Education

  • High school level diploma 
  • Good command of English and Arabic - both speaking and writing.
  • Good computer skills.

Experience

  • Three years of work within a risk education role.  

Basic Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years old.
  • No criminal record.
  • No conflicts of interest.
  • License holder and capable of driving a manual car
  • Able to travel independently and stay several nights in other locations
  • Not listed as a sanctioned individual or associated with a sanctioned organization under the relevant sanctions lists.
  • Ability to travel and reside in the target project location(s) for extended periods of time.
  • Suitable health and fitness sufficient for long-duration deployments and operations.
  • Training certification issued by national authorities and NPA.
