Job Description:
The FSAC and Protection Assistant will oversee and ensure the effective implementation of livelihood support and protection activities. They will work closely with stakeholders to deliver high-quality interventions aligned with project goals and key performance indicators (KPIs). Key responsibilities are detailed below, categorized by sector focus.
Key Responsibilities:
1. FSAC (Food Security and Agriculture Cluster)
Livelihood Support Activities:
- Oversee the distribution of livestock kits (animals and feed) to targeted beneficiaries.
- Manage cash assistance programs to support livestock and livelihood recovery.
- Facilitate community engagement to identify households needing livelihood support, prioritizing vulnerable groups such as female-headed households.
- Monitor the adoption of crisis-adaptive livelihood strategies by targeted households and document progress.
Training and Capacity Building:
- Organize awareness sessions on sustainable livestock management and related best practices.
- Train community members in livelihood management and resource utilization.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track and report on the number of livestock kits distributed and individuals benefiting from cash assistance.
- Coordinate with local authorities and community committees to ensure smooth implementation.
2. Protection
1. Cash for Protection: Managing the distribution of cash assistance to vulnerable individuals in Majzar District, ensuring proper assessment, beneficiary selection, and coordination with local authorities and the Protection Cluster.
2. Legal Assistance: Facilitating the issuance of identity cards for 100 beneficiaries, providing legal documentation to BNFs.

General Responsibilities
1. Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of all project indicators related to FSAC and Protection activities. Regularly update the platform with data on the number of beneficiaries served, livestock distributed, cash transfers provided, and other relevant indicators.
2. Prepare comprehensive monthly progress reports that summarize achievements, challenges faced, and any mitigation actions taken. Highlight key milestones such as completed cash assistance distributions and protection activities. Submit the reports to the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders by the agreed deadlines.
About Candidate
1. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Health, Humanitarian Assistance, Development Studies, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
2. Professional Experience:
- At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in FSAC and Protection programs, ideally in an emergency or humanitarian context.
- Experience in livelihood support and protection activities, including cash-based interventions & legal aid.
3. Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of FSAC and Protection principles, frameworks, and guidelines.
- Knowledge of community engagement and capacity-building strategies.
- Understanding of humanitarian principles and emergency response protocols.
4. Skills:
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to prepare detailed reports and documentation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and reporting tools like ActivityInfo, and familiarity with data collection tools (e.g., Kobo, CommCare).
5. Language:
- English proficiency is an advantage, particularly for external reports and donor communications.
6. Personal Attributes:
- Strong commitment to humanitarian principles and rights-based approaches.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in challenging environments.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative.
7. Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel to remote and difficult areas as required by the project.
