Diversity Organization is a non-governmental and non-profit organization, licensed under number 24 in 2013 by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor. It operates in various humanitarian sectors with the aim of responding to the humanitarian crisis and contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals in Yemen.
Job Summary:
The Health Officer will oversee planning, implementation, and monitoring of health interventions, ensuring that vulnerable populations have access to quality health services. They will coordinate with local health authorities, supervise health staff, and ensure compliance with humanitarian and donor standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Implementation & Technical Oversight
- Oversee day‑to‑day implementation of health activities, ensuring adherence to national and international health protocols.
- Ensure proper delivery of primary healthcare services, referrals, outreach activities, and health education sessions.
2. Health Team Management
- Provide technical supervision to the medical staff working in the supported health facilities.
- Support training and capacity building of health workers on essential services and IPC.
3. Coordination with Health Authorities
- Coordinate with district health offices, MoPHP, and health cluster partners to align interventions with national and cluster standards.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure uninterrupted supply of medicines and medical consumables.
4. Health, Safety, and Infection Control
- Ensure proper implementation of hygiene and sterilization procedures according to approved protocols.
- Monitor the safe disposal of hazardous medical waste to protect the environment and community.
- Ensure safety, confidentiality, and ethical medical practices during all health interventions.
5. Accountability, Protection & Safeguarding
- Promote protection mainstreaming, gender equality, and disability inclusion across all technical activities.
- Ensure that community feedback related to Health facilities is documented, addressed, and closed in coordination with the MEAL team and the Feedback and Complaints Mechanism (FCM).
- Adhere to DO Code of Conduct and PSEA policies at all times; model safe and respectful behavior in the field.
6. Reporting and Data Management
- Prepare and submit periodic epidemiological reports and pharmaceutical consumption reports.
- Conduct regular monitoring visits to health facilities and outreach locations.
- Ensure timely submission of health indicators to the MEAL team and Project Manager.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and final health reports for submission to the Project Manager.
- Ensure proper archiving of all technical documents (both soft and hard copies) for audit and donor readiness.
- Perform any other tasks asked by supervisor
The duties and responsibilities listed above are not exhaustive, and additional tasks may be assigned as needed to support the effective implementation of the project.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, or a related health field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience working with NGOs in the health sector.
- Strong knowledge of national health guidelines, WHO standards, and humanitarian health principles.
- Good English and Arabic language skills, both written and spoken. Additionally, the ability to write high-quality reports.
- Experience supervising health teams and conducting field monitoring visits.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office and health information systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond appropriately to senior management inquiries in this field.
- Ability to travel frequently to field sites and work under pressure.
- Strong team management skills and the ability to effectively communicate with and motivate staff.
- Commitment to humanitarian principles and professional ethics.
