Main Purpose: Under the supervision of PM and WASH expert is responsible for the overall qualitative and timely implementation and report of the WASH activities for the ECHO funded project in his work area.

The Hygiene Promotion team leader will be responsible to plan and organize community awareness on hygiene related issues, community mobilization and monitoring and reporting of all the HP activities concerning hygiene communities’ awareness campaigns and sessions, beside identifying problems and reporting on WASH needs and concerns in the target areas.

Reporting to: PM and Wash expert 

Hierarchical: The PM to oversee administrative and managerial aspects. 

Project Manager/project coordinator directly supervises the HPTL   within the project framework, ensuring adherence to timelines, and objectives

Technical: supervision involves guidance on methodology, standards, and quality assurance. The HPTL typically receives technical oversight from wash expert/ Specialist/coordinator provides direction on WASH standards, and frameworks 

Tasks:

Under the supervision of the PM and wash expert he is responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

1-    Under the guidance of the wash expert help coordination the activities of the hygiene promotion officers as required.
2-    Support all the related activities under the sanitation, water supply, and NFIs subsectors 
3-    Help support the team's capacities and knowledge development of WASH IPC.
4-    Ensure that quality standards are considered during the planning and implementation of the Hygiene Promotion sessions as required.
5-    He is responsible to coordinates, plan, implementation all Hygiene Promotion activities and according with Wash Expert.
6-    Support the capacities and knowledge development of WASH IPC within the team.
7-    He will be responsible, offering daily guidance, planning to the hygiene promotion team in targeted districts, facilitating new Hygiene Promotion approaches, methodologies and technologies.
8-    Responsible of implement distribution of NFIs the as planned
9-    Ensures adherence to INTERSOS hygiene promotion technical guidelines and donor requirements in specific projects
10-    Break down the annual operational plans for hygiene promotion into daily, weekly, monthly implementation plans at area level
11-    Explore and work with different groups to find effective hygiene promotion approaches, communication channels 
12-    Working closely in particular with Report Officer. 
13-    Participate in doing awareness sessions with team 
14-    Monitor hygiene promotion activities, ensure the quality.  
15-    Ensure that community/beneficiary feedback are collected and reported on a regular basis
16-    Conduct the training to hygiene promotion and volunteers on key PHP approaches and methodologies.This includes CLTS, PHAST approach or similar, appropriate IEC methods,
17-    Participate in active research of cholera cases, COVID-19, and other infectious diseases
18-    Participate in the development and completion of a knowledge attitudes and practices survey (KAP) at the start and end of the project to enable accurate measurement of the anticipated positive project impact
19-    Any other task requested in order to achieve the project’s objectives.
20-    Supervision and monitoring of clean-up activities in the targeted areas IDPs sites level that implement by Cleaning Improvment Fund (CIF) to solid waste lifting and disposal.
21-    Participate with engineering colleagues design, assessment need to selecting the targeted areas, IDPs sites.
22-     Responsible on formation the committees Wash. 
23-    Collate and managed databases professionally: data collection, insertion, data processing and analysis.
24-    Provide weekly and monthly reports on activities conducted in the base.
25-    Provided input for any ad hock report requested .
26-    Accomplish any other tasks requested by PM and any other senior staff

Requirements

Education :

• A minimum bachelor’s degree in social sciences or similar fields is highly desirable.

Professional experience: 

• 3 years of professional experience working as a hygiene promotion team leader.
• Prior experience in WASH projects
• working and/or coordinating with other NGOs.
• Excellent communication skills with different population groups (age, gender, social status, etc.)

Professional requirements 

• 2 years of professional experience working in hygiene promotion;
• Prior experience in working and/or coordinating with other NGOs; 
• Strong diplomatic, interpersonal and communications skills;
• Training skills;
• Knowledge of the area of responsibility;

Personal requirements 

• Attention to detail and structured way of approaching tasks;
• Able to ensure quick quality delivery in stressful environment;
• Ability to adhere to deadlines and respect line management;
• Ability to deal with heavy work pressure;

Languages: 

• Native Arabic speaker with good knowledge of English.
