Action Contre la Faim is an International Humanitarian Organization established in 1979 with the mission to save lives by combating hunger through prevention, detection and treatment of malnutrition, in particular during and after emergency situations caused by conflict and natural disasters. Action Contre la Faim provides coordinated responses in nearly 50 countries including Yemen globally within 7 field of expertise which includes Nutrition and Health, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Food Security, Mental Health Care Practices, Gender and Protection, Advocacy, Risk and Disaster Management and Research.
ACF has been operational in Yemen since 2012 and is operational in 4 bases (Aden, Hodeida, Al khokha and Sanaa). The mission implements its activities which are centred on 3 sectors, Nutrition and Health, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Mental Health and Psychosocial Support and Protection (MHPSS-P).

- Job Title: Information and Communication Technology Officer
- Location: Sana’a office with periodic visits to Hudeidah base.
- Contract duration: until 31st August 2026 with possibility of extension.
- Basic monthly salary (taxable): 1041 $ to 1243 $ based on experience salary calculation (excluding other benefits offered by the organization)
- Line/ Technical Manager: ICT Manager
Objective of the position : Ensure the most effective use of ICT equipment, while respecting ACF standards, procedures, policies, and the security rules in force
Mission 1: Supervise equipment security and the use of the mission's IT resources
The IT Officer is responsible for:
- Ensuring employees adherance to ACF Yemen ICT Policy and ACF IT standards.
- Ensuring software usage guidelines are respected, that updates are deployed at individual workstations and that accounts and data protection is applied correctly..
- Monitoring the data back-up procedure.
- Installing and maintaining local networks according to standards (router, Wifi AP, NAS server, Internet modem.. etc).
- Maintaining computers, printers/scanners and conducting monthly checks to ensure its reliability and efficiency.
- Resolving assigned Helpdesk tickets.
- Capitalising data and procedures related to the use of IT resources and networks and communicating this information upstream to line management.
- Follow up payments to ICT service providers to ensure service continuity.
Mission 2: Improve the efficiency of IT resource use
The IT Officer is responsible for:
- Installing and updating the standard / validated software and its updates for users.
- Suggesting IT resources that could be implemented to improve user work efficiency in accordance with ACF Yemen ICT Policy and standards.
- Reporting problems encountered and solutions implemented
Mission 3: Equipment registration and tracking
The IT Officer is responsible for:
- Ensuring that the office/base equipment list is constantly updated and maintained in readable form and with correct data.
- Equipment are stocked properly and in good condition.
- Conduct periodic equipment inventories and report its results.
- Ensure that equipment operations are following ACF Yemen ICT Policy and SoPs in place.
- Report the office/base equipment list at each end of month to the ICT Manager according to the deployed SoPs.
Mission 4: Promote user awareness and train users in the use of ICT resources
The IT Officer is responsible for:
- Training users on the use of IT equipment and software.
- Training users on the correct use of IT resources, NAS server, and respecting ICT Policy and all IT security rules and guidelines.
Ensure adherence to ACF gender requirement; Commit and comply with ACF gender, age and diversity principles at anytime during activities; Support the implementation and the promotion of gender.
Additional Responsibilities
- This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive and the employee will also perform other related tasks as required and be responsible for reporting and communicating the progress and achievement of the specific assigned task;
- Maintenance of high technical standards;
- Conduct all duties in a professional manner in accordance with the mission’s Safeguarding Policy, Code of Conduct, Internal Rules and Regulations, mandate and charter of principles including the promotion of gender equality.
- The employee is also required to remain alert and responsive to any child and adult safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills to promote strong safeguarding practices, and conduct duties in a manner consistent with the mission’s Safeguarding Policy.
Required Qualification, Skills and Professional Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Administration, or any related field.
- Strong knowledge of WAN/LAN networks equipment, computers software and hardware, copiers/printers, and IT Security.
- 2+ years experience is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and reporting skills.
- Knowledge of the Windows OS and Office suite.
- Fluent in Arabic and English.
- Capacity to anticipate and plan activities..
