Job Title : IT Assistant
Status: Full-time.
Reports To: Operations Officer.
Location: Aden.
Deadline: 11/05/2025.
Required Starting: As soon as possible.

About us:

Mayar Foundation for Development is a non-governmental, non-profit organization licensed under No. 1019.
It was established on December 12, 2012, by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor. Operating within the Republic of Yemen, the foundation specializes in youth capacity building and the development of distinguished community leaders who contribute to the advancement of society across various aspects of life.
The foundation provides emergency relief, rehabilitation, and a range of developmental assistance. It also responds to the urgent needs of the population.

Its main office is located in Aden Governorate – Al-Mansoura – Rimy.

Summary:

To provide comprehensive technical support for IT systems, networks, accounting systems, surveillance systems (CCTV), and information security. Additionally, the role includes managing and maintaining IT assets to ensure operational efficiency and security.

Duties and Responsibilities

1.    IT Infrastructure and Network Management:

  • Install, configure, and maintain computers, servers, printers, and network devices (routers, switches).
  • Monitor network performance to ensure stability, speed, and security.
  • Provide technical support to staff and resolve hardware/software issues.
  • Manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions on internal systems.
  • Ensure functionality of DVR/NVR systems and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Review surveillance footage when needed (in coordination with the security team).
  • Update firmware for surveillance equipment.
  • Provide technical support for ERP systems.
  • Ensure system compliance with MFD (Mayar Foundation for Development) policies and controls.
  • Train staff on the use of software and technical systems when required.
  • Update website content and resolve technical issues.
  • Manage organizational email accounts (creation, deactivation, modification).
  • Ensure email system security and protection from cyber threats.

2.    Asset Management and Maintenance:

  • Inventory and document technical assets and equipment within institutional records.
  • Follow up on periodic maintenance contracts for devices, networks, and systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors for repairs or replacement of malfunctioning equipment.

3.    Cybersecurity and Risk Prevention:

  • Implement information security procedures to protect data and systems.
  • Monitor for security threats and take preventive measures.
  • Train staff on basic security practices (e.g., strong passwords, phishing prevention).

4.    General Responsibilities:

  • Support the procurement team with technical specifications for IT-related equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with the MFD Accountability Framework and Code of Conduct, including fraud management policies.
  • Adhere to and support all policies and procedures related to staff safety and security.
  • Travel to field sites when necessary.
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of two years of practical experience in IT support, especially in office environments.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Onyx Pro.
  • Proven experience in technical support, asset management, logistics, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace tools (Gmail, Google Drive, etc.).

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Good verbal and written English communication skills are required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, politely, and effectively with colleagues as needed.
  • Capable of working independently and taking initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Previous experience working with NGOs is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strict commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of all organizational and employee-related information.
