Acted has been present in Yemen since early 2012 and has been anchored to the governorates of Ibb, Hudaydah, Raymah, AlDhalee, Saadah, AlJawf, Aden, Dhamar and Marib.
Through its comprehensive programming, Acted has been covering the full continuum of emergency, rehabilitation and development in Yemen. Emergency activities have focused in the sectors of Agriculture and food Security (e.g. distribution of crop seeds, and livestock), Economic Recovery and Market Systems (e.g. income-generating activities such as cash for work), and WASH (e.g. rehabilitation of water supply facilities, hygiene promotion). Acted’s food security activities include the distribution of food vouchers, which are a key component of Acted’s interventions in the country.
Acted Organization is pleased to announce the below job vacancy with the following details:

- Contract Type: Fixed Term/Part-Time Contract
- Contract Duration: 6 Months_ with possibility of extension based on performance and budget availability
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
1. Monitoring and data collection (40%)
a) Conduct routine monitoring visits, PDMs, distribution monitoring, activity verification, baseline/midline/endline surveys, and qualitative exercises (KIIs/FGDs) as scheduled.
b) Deploy and troubleshoot digital tools (Kobo); ensure proper device setup, and survey versions.
c) Adhere to sampling plans, consent procedures, safeguarding, and do-no-harm principles.
d) Maintain daily field logs: sites visited, sample achieved, issues encountered, corrective actions.
2. Data quality and management (25%)
a) Perform first-line data checks (completeness, duplicates, skip logic, outliers); flag inconsistencies to the MEAL Officer/senior MEAL officer.
b) Clean and code datasets following SOPs; maintain version control.
c) Enter and organize secondary data (attendance, distribution lists, CFM logs) in shared folders/SharePoint with standardized naming.
d) Support data verification through spot checks, back checks, and document audits (MoVs).
3. Accountability to Affected People (AAP) and CFM (20%)
a) Operate and promote feedback and complaint channels (helpdesks, suggestion boxes, hotline/WhatsApp) in coordination with field teams.
b) Record, categorize, and track cases in the COMPFU database; ensure confidentiality and data protection.
c) Escalate sensitive cases (e.g., SEA/GBV, child protection) through approved referral pathways.
d) Provide feedback to communities on actions taken (“you said, we did”) in safe and appropriate ways.
4. Reporting and learning (10%)
a) Prepare concise field monitoring reports with findings, photos (with consent), and actionable recommendations.
b) Contribute indicator data to monthly updates and donor reports; support updating simple dashboards.
c) Support learning activities: lessons learned notes, success stories (with consent), and presentations to program teams.
5. Coordination and compliance (5%)
a) Coordinate with Program, Grants, and Logistics teams to schedule monitoring in line with activity plans.
b) Participate in training for enumerators and program staff on tools, consent, and data quality.
c) Comply with Acted policies on safeguarding, PSEA, data protection, and security.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Education: bachelor’s degree in social sciences, statistics, public health, development studies, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 1–2 years in MEAL/field data collection, preferably with NGOs in humanitarian or development settings.
- Technical: Proficiency with Kobo/ODK; basic Excel (pivot tables and lookups a plus); familiarity with sampling, basic statistics, and qualitative methods.
- Languages: English and Arabic.
- Other: Willingness to travel frequently to field sites; ability to work under pressure and in insecure or remote contexts; strong interpersonal and communication skills; commitment to safeguarding and data protection.
