Position : MEAL Assistant
Duty Station: Lahj Governorate (with field travel across targeted districts)
Contract Type: Full-time (subject to budget availability)

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular field monitoring visits using standardized and approved tools (forms, checklists, quality standards).
• Implement data collection activities, including market assessments, beneficiary verification, baseline and endline surveys, and Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM).
• Carry out field verification activities and review beneficiary lists according to approved targeting criteria.
• Facilitate Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and participatory data collection methods with communities, ensuring adherence to ethical standards.
• Support the activation and operation of the Complaints and Feedback Mechanism (CRM/CFM) at project sites.
• Receive complaints and feedback from beneficiaries, document and track them systematically while ensuring confidentiality and data protection.
• Prepare field visit reports and support lessons learned sessions and corrective action planning with relevant teams.
• Ensure proper data filing and archiving according to the approved system.
• Maintain close coordination with the MEAL Officer and program team regarding field implementation and findings.
• Liaise with field teams and community committees to ensure smooth implementation of accountability and monitoring activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Higher Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in field data collection or monitoring and evaluation with civil society organizations.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and electronic data collection platforms (e.g., Kobo).
• Ability to work in remote field locations and engage effectively with local communities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• High level of accuracy and objectivity in data collection.
• Good command of English.
