Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. Organizational Context and Scope:
Applications are welcome from internal and external candidates. Under the overall supervision of the Programme Support Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Programme Support Officer, the Programme Support Associate will provide administrative and programme support to project components implemented by the IOM mission in Yemen.
Responsibilities:
1. Support the organization’s project development activities by collecting inputs and assisting in drafting and reviewing sections of project funding submissions/proposals and appeals.
2. Collect data and inputs on programme implementation and indicators to support the preparation of donor reports and other updates.
3. Assist with informal translation of documents and reports from Arabic to English and vice versa as required.
4. Keep accurate and pertinent records of all correspondence, reporting deadlines and other files and administrative information.
5. Draft reporting templates and assist with their use.
6. Follow up with field teams to collect inputs for success stories.
7. Provide administrative support to the unit as required, including updating and processing information and tasks through internal software (PRIMA, WAVE).
8. Perform any other tasks as required
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- High school diploma with five years of relevant professional experience; or
- Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in social science, business administration or other relevant discipline from an accredited academic institution and three years of relevant professional experience.
Accredited Universities are those listed in the World Higher Education Database (WHED) Portal.
Experience
- Experience in reporting and contracts drafting.
- Knowledge of different reporting and contracts templates.
- Professional experience with UN agencies or other international organizations would be an asset.
Skills
- Good level of IT literacy (MS Word & Excel).
LANGUAGES
- For all applicants, fluency in English and Arabic is required (oral and written).
- IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
- Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

- This selection process may be used to staff similar positions in various duty stations. Recommended candidates will remain eligible to be appointed in a similar position for a period of 24 months.

- Appointment will be subject to certification that the candidate is medically fit for appointment, verification of residency, visa, and authorizations by the concerned Government, where applicable.
