About Diversity Organization:
Diversity Organization is a non-governmental and non-profit organization, licensed under number 24 in 2013 by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor. It operates in various humanitarian sectors with the aim of responding to the humanitarian crisis and contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals in Yemen.
Job Summary:
The Project Manager will be based in Al-Dhale’e with frequent field visits to Ad Dale’ and Al Azariq districts. The PM will dedicate 100% of their time to leading, coordinating, and ensuring the high-quality implementation of all project activities across Food Security & Agriculture (FSAC), Health, and WASH sectors.
The role ensures timely, quality, and compliant implementation in full alignment with donor requirements, humanitarian standards, and DO policies. The Project Manager leads the project team, manages the budget, oversees reporting, and maintains strategic coordination with donors, clusters, and government authorities at the governorate and national levels.
Key Responsibilities
The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management and successful execution of the project, including:
Project Leadership & Management:
- Leading the project team, defining roles and tasks, and evaluating performance.
- Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of all project activities in line with the project's objectives and timeline.
- Provide strategic direction and technical guidance to the project team and local partners.
- Ensure all project deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Monitoring project progress to ensure that key milestones are achieved on time.
- Developing and implementing mechanisms to continuously evaluate project successes and identify areas for improvement.
- Providing recommendations and facilitating adjustments to project procedures to ensure the achievement of intended results and outputs.
Stakeholder & Partner Coordination:
- Coordinate project implementation with local authorities, clusters at national and sub-national hubs, humanitarian partners, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate closely with other sectors (Health, WASH, FSL).
- Maintain strong working relationships with local partner organizations, community leaders, and relevant government bodies.
- Ensuring that stakeholders and beneficiaries of the project have a positive image of the Diversity organization, which increases the acceptance of its presence and activities in the project implementation areas.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications.
Financial & Administrative Oversight:
- Manage the project budget with the highest standards of quality and efficiency, ensuring rigorous oversight of expenditures and optimal resource allocation to achieve project objectives in full compliance with financial regulations
- Oversee all administrative tasks, including procurement, logistics, and resource allocation.
- Ensure project assets and resources are used responsibly and according to organizational procedures.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning
- Work closely with the MEAL team to ensure proper monitoring of project activities and indicators.
- Support development of monitoring and evaluation tools and the implementation of assessments, surveys, and post-distribution monitoring.
- Promote protection mainstreaming, gender equality, disability inclusion, and safeguarding principles (including PSEA) across all project activities.
- Ensure the Feedback and Complaints Mechanism (FCM) is functional, accessible, and responsive.
- Document lessons learned, challenges, and best practices, contributing to organizational learning and success stories.
Team Leadership & Capacity Building:
- Lead and supervise project staff and provide guidance and technical support.
- Facilitate regular team meetings to ensure effective communication, coordination, and problem-solving.
- Support staff capacity building and promote a positive, accountable, and professional working environment.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Promote a culture of accountability within the team, ensuring that community feedback is valued and acted upon.
Risk Management:
- Identify and monitor project risks (security, operational, financial, reputational) and update the risk matrix regularly.
- Develop and implement mitigation measures in consultation with the team and senior management.
- Escalate critical risks to the Executive Director / Head of Programs as needed.
Compliance, Reporting & Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with YHF donor requirements and DO policies including PSEA and Code of Conduct.
- Ensuring compliance with technical, financial, and logistical standards.
- Review and validate all reports before submission, ensuring consistency between narrative and financial data.
- Lead the preparation and timely submission of high-quality narrative and financial reports (monthly, quarterly, final) in line with donor schedules.
- Ensuring save project documentation (both soft and hard copies), including means of verification, contracts and agreements, procurement files, beneficiary lists, MEAL data, FCM records, and monitoring reports.
- Ensure audit and donor readiness at all times.
The duties and responsibilities listed above are not exhaustive, and additional tasks may be assigned as needed to support the effective implementation of the project.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business Administration).
- Relevant professional experience in the humanitarian sector, preferably around 11 years or more. Proven experience in project management for at least 5 years of experience in humanitarian project management (FSAC, Health, WASH).
- Proven experience in managing multi-sectoral programs (FSAC, Health, WASH).
- Proficiency in the English language both orally and written.
- Proven ability to draft high-quality reports and analyze information in English.
Required Skills:
- Excellent computer skills (proven computer literacy, in particular, proficiency with MS Office tools is a must).
- Ability and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Good management and planning skills with ability to solve problems.
- Strong knowledge of humanitarian principles, accountability mechanisms, and cluster coordination.
- Budget monitoring and financial management knowledge.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with local authorities and communities.
- Strong team management skills and the ability to effectively communicate with and motivate staff.
- Prepared and able to work under pressure, in challenging situations, with security risks, and manage personal stress levels.
