  • Job Title: THERAPEUTIC FEEDING CENTRE NURSE (Only Female)
  • Duty Station: 1 in Hajja-Kushar and 1 in Hodeida – As Sukhna
  • Reports hierarchically to: Therapeutic Feeding Centre Medical Doctor–Team Leader (TFC MD TL)
  • Contract duration: 5 months, renewable upon funds confirmation.
  • Announcing date: January 27th, 2026
  • Announcement of closing date: February 5th, 2026
  • Work Starting Date: ASAP

PU-AMI’s Context & Strategy:

Première Urgence - Aide Médicale Internationale (PU-AMI) is an international, non-profit, non-political, and non-religious humanitarian organization which aims to provide rapid global response to the basic needs of populations affected by humanitarian crises to help them regain independence and dignity. PU-AMI provides assistance to more than 6 million people throughout 24 countries, with more than 2,500 staff worldwide.
PU-AMI adopts an integrated approach, to identify and understand the full array of the needs of the people affected by crises. This innovative approach is at the core of every PU-AMI-supported projects, to better target and prioritize actions, stabilize and improve the situation of the most vulnerable groups. It allows the teams to take all aspects of a problem into account, to come up with an efficient combination of solutions, which will have a powerful and long-lasting impact on the affected populations. In this respect, the organization runs around 190 projects a year worldwide, most of which are focused on Health, Nutrition, Food Security, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Psychosocial Support, Education and Protection activities. 
In Yemen, PU-AMI is supporting 27 health facilities (Health Centers, Health Units and Therapeutic Feeding Centers) in four Districts in Hodeidah (Al Mighlaf, As Sukhnah, Al Mansuriyah and Al Qanawis), two districts in Hajjah (Abs and Kushar), one District in Raymah (Bilad At Ta’am) and two Districts in Taizz (Al Mokha and Mawza).
PU-AMI’s operations are managed by two field offices in Hodeidah and Mokha cities, both supported by the Sana’a coordination office. PU-AMI recently established a second coordination office in Aden. 
PU-AMI is participating actively in clusters and sub-clusters (health; nutrition; food security and livelihoods; WaSH) and works closely with relevant government departments.

Job Description

Overall Objective

Under the Direct supervision of the TFC Medical doctor Team leader leads and coordinates quality care for malnourished children and their caregivers by managing Therapeutic Feeding Center and service to mothers and babies, ensuring proper nutrition protocols, promoting maternal and child health, supporting staff collaborating with TFC teams, and regularly monitors and reports under PUI Psychologist technical supervision. capacity and compassionate care delivery.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Clinical Management and service provision.

  • Supply and Stock Management. 

Specific Goals and Related Activities

1- Clinical Management and Service Provision.

  • Provide direct nursing care for children with severe acute malnutrition (SAM) admitted in the TFC, ensuring timely treatment and close observations.
  • Lead the GHO nursing team within the TFC, guiding daily clinical activities, supporting staff, and ensuring that every child receives quality care.
  • Provide (TFC) services for mothers and caregivers, including breastfeeding counseling, care of women practice, hygiene practice, psychosocial support practice and home health practice.
  • Ensuring a high standard of care for patients in the TFC in collaboration with all members of the multidisciplinary team, effective management of the referral systems, and performing activities within the TFC with the mothers and the babies.
  • Collaborates with the MHPSS Manager /PUI Psychologist to implement awareness activities or group support sessions, basic emotional support, and psychological first aid (PFA) to distressed mothers and caregivers, following MHPSS guidance inside the TFC, and shares regular updates with the MHPSS Manager/PUI Psychologist.
  • Ensure all services In the inpatient department and TFC strictly follow of national and organizational clinical guidelines and protocols.

2- Team Supervision and Capacity Building.

  • Supervise and support the performance of the  GHO TFC nursing team and other GHO staff as guards , cleaners.
  • With the support of TFC MD, TL will provide on-the-job training for the GHO staff.
  • Organize duty rosters, daily task assignments, and ensure consistent quality of care.

3- Supply and Resource Management.

  • Under the supervision of TFC MD TL she will This includes managing the TFC pharmacy, medical and non-medical supplies, fuel, and essential equipment to ensure smooth and uninterrupted care.

  • Follow up on stock levels of medicines, supplies, and other essentials, making sure nothing runs out and everything is available when needed, in addition to ensuring the pharmacy is well-organized, clean, and well-recorded for consumption.
  • Monitor fuel usage for generators or other essential services; ensure responsible and recorded consumption.
  • Check that all medical and non-medical equipment is clean, safe to use, and working properly; on time report of any problems so they can be fixed quickly.

4- Monitoring –, Evaluation- Reporting and Documentation 

  • Ensure that all patient records, registers, for admitted cases and TFC reporting are properly filled out, archived, and stored securely.
  • To ensure the day-to-day monitoring of the overall TFC activity and provide regular reports for the MHPSS Manager/PUI Psychologist 
  • Support the TFC MD TL in the collection of quality data from both the TFC and for mothers and babies services provided, making sure it's complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
  • Ensure confidentiality and respectful handling of all patient and caregiver information.  

Team Management

Under the line management of TFC MD TL, Nutrition AM, and Technical Management of MHPSS Manager /PUI Psychologist

Number of people to manage and their position (expatriate/local staff)

  • Direct management:   None
  • Indirect management, with the support of MD TL: 
    • GHO Nurses 
    • GHO cleaner and guard

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Working hours: 8 hours a day from Saturday to Wednesday.

Other Interfaces

  • Internal: Head of Base/Field Coordinator, Deputy Field Coordinator, Program Manager, and medical coordinator, work in collaboration with the administration, logistics.
