ABOUT ADRA: The Adventist Development and Relief Agency is an independent, humanitarian agency established for the specific purpose of providing individual and community development and disaster relief. ADRA Yemen pursue a mission of changing the world by uplifting one life at a time. ADRA International serves over 100 countries and is present in Yemen since 1995. Its programs are supported by various country-based and international donors. It has presence in different Governorates in Yemen responding to 6 areas of humanitarian sectors. ADRA Yemen is undertaking programs in Yemen in the fields of health, nutrition, WASH, food security, livelihoods, and protection.

SUMMARY:
The WASH Assistant will be responsible for assessing water points and relevant WASH activities required for rehabilitation and constructions and preparing all required designs and Bill of quantity and supervising its implementation, moreover following up all WASH activities relevant to the project.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The “WASH Assistant “will be responsible but not limited to:
- Implement a detailed technical assessment
- Develop detailed bill of quantities (BOQ) and drawings for the construction/Rehabilitation works required.
- Develop rehabilitation and construction project budget estimates.
- Supervise the construction/rehabilitation process, ensuring completion within timelines and accordance with approved BOQs.
- Verify incoming materials are of the highest quality.
- Certify achievement of contractual milestones and provide reports to the WASH Advisor to proceed with contractors’ payments.
- Ensure Contractors are compliant with ADRA and donor polices safety and security protocols on all construction /rehabilitated sites.
- Ensure that contractors maintain proper inventory control systems of commodities/goods transactions
- Provide training to all relevant beneficiaries (Communities committees, daily laborer's and beneficiaries) to ensure safe and appropriate use of facilities installed.
- With support from the WASH Advisor, develop, implement and monitor monthly activity plans to achieve expected results
- Support in data entry, documentation and the preparation of documents.
- Follow up the implementation of all WASH activities in the location of projects
- Documentation and raising progress report on a weekly basis.
- Responsible in hygiene kits distribution and follow up the reports of hygiene promotion volunteer.
- Follow up and ensure that all documents of hand-over be signed by stockholders.
- Submit report with photos for all handed-over projects.
- Adhere to the organization’s safeguarding framework, including Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), child protection, anti-harassment, and ethical conduct policies, ensuring alignment with international standards (e.g., Core Humanitarian Standard, UN CRC).
- Promptly report safeguarding concerns or violations through designated channels, maintain confidentiality, and participate in mandatory safeguarding training to uphold a safe, inclusive environment for all stakeholders.
- Any other related duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical equivalent, preferably in Civil Engineering, Water and Sanitation, or any relevant fields.
- A Minimum of One year of experience in the sector of WASH projects
- Very good computer skills MS office (Word, Excel).
- English and Arabic Language (Writing and speaking) are required.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage personal stress levels.
- Strong Community Mobilization skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities, work efficiently under pressure and in changing circumstances.
- Have an experience with ADRA is preferable and add value.
