Job Description:

The Agricultural livestock assistant will be responsible of overseeing for FSAC sector including unconditional cash assistant and livestock tailored Reporting to the project officer. This role requires close collaboration with VHI's field teams, local authorities, and community leaders to ensure project activities are implemented aligned with project objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work closely with community committees to facilitate communication between the project team and the local population.
• Provide guidance to community committees on beneficiary selection and project activities.
• Assist in the identification and selection of beneficiary households for unconditional cash assistant and livestock support, ensuring alignment with project criteria.
• Support the procurement, transportation, and distribution of livestock (e.g., goats, sheep) to targeted households.
• Initiate the processing of procurement needs for agriculture and livestock activities, including procurement of agricultural inputs, livestock, and materials, following VHIs’ policies and procedures
• Ensure that the distribution process is conducted in accordance with the project's and FSAC cluster criteria.
• Conduct training sessions for beneficiaries on livestock management and care to ensure the sustainability of the project.
• Provide ongoing support and technical assistance to beneficiaries as needed.
• Conduct regular follow-up visits to monitor the condition and productivity of distributed livestock.
• Maintain accurate records of livestock distribution, beneficiary feedback, and field observations.
• Contribute to post-distribution monitoring (PDM) and reporting activities.
• Prepare reports on FSAC activities, highlighting progress, challenges, and lessons learned, for internal and donor audiences.
• Engage with local authorities and community leaders to strengthen community ownership and secure support for project activities. Provide required inputs in regular progress reports to the donor.
• Document lessons learned and success stories on the project.

Education And Skill Requirement:

• At least diploma degree Agriculture or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in humanitarian or development projects.
• Prior experience supporting project implementation, 
• Very good in English; written and spoken
• Excellent computer literacy and administrative skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, under tight deadlines.
