JOB TITLE: Livelihood Assistant (2)
DEPARTMENT: Program
Report to: CVA Technical Engineer
LOCATION: Taiz (Ash Shamayatayn District - Maqbanah District)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordination and Communication
- Coordinate and communicate with counterparts at district and governorate levels, including local authorities, NGOs, and responsible parties.
- Maintain close coordination with community committees and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations at implementation sites.
- Act as an effective communication channel between the program, contractors, subcontractors, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with responsible parties and maintain continuous communication with stakeholders to maximize impact and ensure synergy.
- Organize and participate in regular meetings with relevant actors at community, district, and governorate levels to review progress and address challenges.
Follow-up and Technical Support
- Contribute both technically and operationally to the implementation of project activities in targeted districts.
- Support and assist engineers and technical staff in the field, including collecting reports and ensuring accurate data entry.
- Identify challenges faced by field teams at construction or other implementation sites and work with management to provide practical solutions.
- Conduct regular and ad-hoc field visits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and safe implementation practices.
Documentation and Information Management
- Prepare and maintain all project documentation, including contracts, agreements, meeting minutes, and technical or administrative correspondence.
- Document all stages of the project (before, during, and after implementation) with photos, technical reports, and approved templates.
- Archive all project documents and files in both electronic and hard copy formats to ensure easy accessibility.
- Record issues, risks, and lessons learned throughout all phases of the project and update them regularly.
Risk Management and Problem-Solving
- Monitor potential challenges and risks during implementation, propose corrective measures, and ensure timely resolution.
- Follow up on the implementation of corrective actions to address identified issues.
- Map out all actors operating in the same intervention areas and suggest opportunities for collaboration or complementary work.
Reporting
- Prepare and submit regular reports (daily, weekly, monthly, and final) on progress, achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
- Provide feedback, ideas, and suggestions to management regarding activity improvements or scope adjustments as necessary.
- Contribute to the development of success stories and case studies to showcase the positive impact of the project.
Additional Duties
- Assist in organizing training sessions, workshops, and awareness activities related to the project.
- Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the Program Management or Technical Team.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Social Sciences, Economics, Development, Food Security and Livelihoods, Nutrition, Agriculture/Livestock Production, or other related fields.
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in a similar position; NGO experience is preferred.
- Proven experience in the implementation of livestock-based livelihood activities, income-generating activities, and Food Security and Livelihoods projects, particularly in arid and semi-arid lands.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with high-level stakeholders, such as government officials, and to manage complex relationships.
- Proven experience in partnership building, networking, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including government authorities.
- Experience working in marginalized communities, with an understanding of the challenges faced by women, youth, and children.
- Knowledge of safety standards and legislation related to construction and rehabilitation in the region.
Technical Skills
- Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
- Excellent planning, coordination, facilitation, and reporting skills, with the ability to organize and manage a substantial workload.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and people management skills, with the ability to work effectively in multicultural, multi-location, and value-driven teams.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions quickly and independently.

- Team player who promotes collaboration and teamwork.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to work well under pressure, including in stressful situations.

Other Requirements
- Must be from the targeted districts or able to access and work in these districts within Taiz governorate, with permanent residence there until the end of the project.
