Position: Media Assistant
Location: Aden, with frequent field visits
Reports to: Grants coordinator

Action For Humanity International is a non-government organization dedicated to providing humanitarian aid, advocating for social justice, and promoting sustainable development in Yemen and other areas in need across the globe. Since our inception, we have been addressing some of the most urgent humanitarian crises, while endeavoring to find long-term solutions that enhance the welfare of the communities we serve.
Summary:
The Media Assistant will support AFH in its communication efforts by highlighting and documenting
achievements and impactful stories that reflect the organization’s work and meet donor expectations. This role involves creating high-quality visual and written content, including photos, videos, human-interest stories, and promotional materials. The Media Assistant will document program activities across all phases, produce narrative stories, design communication assets, and ensure proper storage and archiving of all media in line with AFH’s standards.
Responsibilities:
Documentation activities/ Programs
- Document activities and programs throughout the assessment, implementation, and completion phases.
- Creation and monitoring of media schedules based on projects timeline.
- Capture photos, videos, and b-roll footage according to the specific requirements of each donor and AFH.
- Provide captions and translations for these clips as needed.
Human Stories:
- Visit and document impactful stories from program beneficiaries for fundraising and promotional purposes, capturing key moments and messages.
- Produce both photos and videos for each story, highlighting both positive and challenging experiences.
- Converting stories to narrative stories based on AFH template.
Designing:
- Create banners, vouchers, posters, and leaflets as requested by the programs team.
- Attend projects kickoff meeting to discuss design needs and media requirements for each project.
Work Storing / Archiving:
- Establish a clear structure for saving documents, images, and videos in accordance with AFH's archiving structure.
- Save videos in project file formats (e.g Premiere) alongside raw b-roll footage for future editing or changes.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 1 – 2 year experience in media assistance or related roles, with a strong understanding of media operations and project management
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster collaboration and convey information clearly
- Strong analytical skills to assess media performance and contribute to strategic decision-making
Preferred:
- Experience in digital media platforms and tools, with a focus on social media marketing
- Familiarity with project management software and media planning tools
