Action For Humanity International is a non-government organization dedicated to providing humanitarian aid,
advocating for social justice, and promoting sustainable development in Yemen and other areas in need across the globe. Since our inception, we have been addressing some of the most urgent humanitarian crises, while endeavoring to find long-term solutions that enhance the welfare of the communities we serve.

Action for Humanity is seeking an experienced and motivated agricultural consultant to join its team as a trainer. The consultant will work with the organization's staff and partner organizations to provide training and technical assistance to smallholder farmers in rural communities.

Summary:

He/She is responsible for managing the organization’s public image, strengthening communication with donors and
stakeholders, and increasing visibility through high‑quality visual, written, and digital content.
The officer will also lead advocacy initiatives, support campaigns, develop key messages, and ensure alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives and donor communication requirements. This position plays a key role in storytelling, media engagement, digital outreach, and policy‑driven advocacy messaging to influence humanitarian action and resource mobilization.

Reporting and Supervision:    

Reports directly to the Grants Coordinator, and works closely with:

  • Program teams
  • MEAL team
  • Field staff
  • Senior management (when required)

Responsibilities:    

Media and Documentation

  • Document all activities across assessment, implementation, monitoring, and closure phases.
  • Maintain a media schedule aligned with donor and project timelines.
  • Capture photos, videos, and b‑roll according to donor visibility standards.
  • Provide captions, and translations for all media content.
  • Ensure proper consent procedures are followed (written and verbal).
  • Develop and implement media strategies aligned with organizational and donor visibility frameworks.
  • Develop scenarios and scripts for impact videos and success stories.
  • Prepare regular visual content packages for donors (daily, monthly, quarterly).

Human-Interest Storytelling:

  • Visit and document impactful stories from program beneficiaries for fundraising and promotional purposes, capturing key moments and messages.
  • Produce high‑quality stories (written, photo, video) that demonstrate impact and highlight organizational achievements.
  • Ensure    narratives    follow    ethical    storytelling    principles,    safeguarding,    and    donor    guidelines.

Social Media Management

  • Manage and update social media platforms with program updates, achievements, and advocacy content.
  • Post daily/weekly content including human-interest stories, impact visuals, events, emergencies, and campaigns.
  • Develop digital campaigns for advocacy, fundraising, emergencies, and thematic days.

Design:

  • Create banners, posters, brochures, leaflets, and visibility materials.
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings to determine design and visibility requirements.
  • Ensure design compliance with organizational branding and donor rules.
  • Review and approve visibility materials before printing or distribution.

Advocacy & Campaign Support

  • Support the development of advocacy messages, briefs, talking points, and position statements.
  • Create media and communication materials for advocacy campaigns.
  • Coordinate with program teams and external partners to highlight humanitarian needs and gaps.
  • Support participation in national and cluster-level advocacy initiatives.
  • Ensure advocacy messaging aligns with organizational principles and humanitarian standards.

Reporting

  • Draft short posts and updates for AFH platforms (weekly/monthly).
  • Produce newsletters (monthly, quarterly) with strong visual content for fundraising.
  • Design periodic situation reports, program briefs, presentations, and annual reports.
  • Contribute to donor reports with visual and narrative content.
  • Ensure all outputs comply with donor, HQ, and legal standards (copyright, consent, branding).

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven experience in photography, videography, and content creation.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or similar editing tools.
  • Strong storytelling and writing skills.
  • Experience in advocacy communication and campaign messaging.
  • Ability to use various documentation tools and equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and submit materials on schedule.
  • Experience in humanitarian or nonprofit communication is an asset.
  • Ability to travel to field locations, including in challenging conditions.
  • Cultural sensitivity and adherence to humanitarian principles.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken) is essential.
